Havent got the time to do a big right up but ill put up what i have done for those that want a little sweat

Newinn Yolo 33/1 e/w with Hills (taking advantage of their 1st round offer)
Ballymac Matt 40/1         41.0 bf win only
Rio Quattro 100/1          101.0 bf win only
Coolavanny Gooch 200/1     450.0 bf win only

Ante post

Droopys Ward 66/1
Quietly 66/1
Lenson Sanchez 50/1 (can get bigger now but not as in form as he was)

Fairytale story would be for Coolavanny Gooch to do very well as ive been following the dog all of last year, seemed to be a star in the making and im just hoping Mr Gardner has got it right for the Derby.

Good luck all.

Ballymac Brogan 66/1 ew
Fiery Splendour 100/1 ew
Rio Quattro 100/1 ew
Lenson Tiggy 200/1 ew
Diego Flight 190.0 win only bf

And the rest :

Ballymac Matt         40
Mash Mad Blackie    120
Stay Loose            160
Diego Flight        185.57
Ballymac Vickson     147
Lenson Tiggy         180
Magical Hotch       740
Broadway Rival      900
Honest John          426.54

Also, betfair priced up heat 27 pretty interestingly....

While everyone else made T3 and T6 6/4jf, they priced them at 9/2 and 4/1. They made the 5 dog the head of the market at 6/5 while the other two firms were 13/2+.

I got a few quid on at both 9/2 & 4/1, they have re-adjusted the market and my bets are still showing as open Smiley

Are there just two qualifiers from each of tonight's heats?

Yes 2 from every heat to get down to the 96 runners for the second round.

all five runner heats are two to qualify.  All dix runner heats are three to qualify.

Last years winner tempted loads of dreamers to have a pop at £250k hence so many runners and some five runner heats to thin the field down to 96 for round two.

I thought every heat was 2 qualify... 48 heats...

It could be Matty I haven't looked into it in detail. Would make sense as to why so many trainers are kicking off about the draw.

The Derby always used to be three to qualify from every heat including the 5-dog heats, but this year there's been some chat about two qualifiers from some and three from others, and it's not clear from looking at the cards in the RP exactly how it works.

It probably had to be a late decision based on how many entries there are.

It is clear. It's definitely two it says it on the cards i've printed out.

With so many entries there were discussions over putting an extra week in to allow for 3 qualify etc but trainers didn't want an extra week so there is only one alternative, 2 go through to whittle it down to 96 entries. Nothing wrong with it imo just makes it more of a minefield first round than usual!

^^^

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Proper minefield of a first round now.
