Some derby trial stakes coming up at Towcester in a minute.
Young pup prospect v two rock solid Derby contenders.

The monmore puppy derby runner up wins Droopys Verve. Be interesting to see the time. Obviously taken to the track. Think i put this up at 66/1 for the Derby. Sure Ralph got on! Depending on the time it might be worth going in again at 50/1 if its gone sub 29 tonight.

29.22 the time. Nothing special. The other big guns were in trouble at first bend so the pup basically did a 29.22 solo tight on the rail.

Also read that they are prepared for 8000 visitors for Derby final night. Wow.

Verve won a classy trial stakes tonight in a rapid sub 29 second time. 33/1 isn't going to last for the Derby if you can get it. Bruisers slow away and came third a few lengths back.

Bfsb restricted to £6.10ew @ 33/1 added to the 50’s from before. Great shout Arb, thanks.
Bit concerned about Bruisers, can forgive the Scottish Derby as the track can be tough, but Towcester is his home and has put in some fast trails, if he can’t sort out his starting he will not make life easy for himself.

The Other Reg won the Scottish Derby. Still 66/1 in a few places for The Derby so have added to the team.

I managed to add some 33/1 Verve to my portfolio too - cheers Arb.
And thanks Omm for linking the races.

just seen the most incredible basement grade (a11) at hove. t4 was 10/1 returned went off 55/1 on bf for decent money. Was 1-23 in basement grade career wise, fell out the traps and literally hosed up by 6 lengths like a 1/55 shot! I have watched literally tens of thousands of graded races in my life but that is one of the most amazing runs i have ever seen.

Things not going well in Florida
https://www.tallahassee.com/story/news/2018/04/17/greyhound-racing-ban-approved-ballot/523589002/
18 dogs tracks in America (doesn’t seem right) 12 of them in Florida. Could be phased out by 2020.

On the subject of Derby Dogs, I have one that might be worth a little Dabble.
We own Forest Mike, under the banner Exodus Racing Club, I'm a part owner of the club and the Dog in question.
Mike is trained by Kevin Hutton, and is just 2 years of age. Took his time coming together last year, and finished the year very well. Ran in the Puppy Derby, and destroyed the opposition in the first 2 heats. Quarter Final nigh fell on Fireworks Night, and to cut a long story short they set him off, missed the break and only just missed out on the semis.
Hes had a quiet start to the year, but did scorch in a cracking trial at Towcester 2 weeks ago, the 16th fastest over the 480m Trip on record, on slow going. Has course and Distance form, and seems to like the the track. Due to run an A1 there tomorrow night, then going over to Romford for a little open competition. He will then be going for the Gold Cup in March, followed by the Derby all being well. Plenty of 100/1 vouchers in my pockets, and there is still some 100/1 about. Hes at the forefront of the Derby plans for Kevins team and with a little luck will be going there with every chance.
Good luck if having a play.
Freddie
Hi Freddie,
I see BFSB and PP have pushed back out to 100/1 - How's the plans going for the Derby? Not long to go.
