How much would you pay for cup final ticket if we got there obv ?

Probably up to 1k, you?

I said I would snap pay £500, if I was doing ok though would definitely pay more.

If you got one for £500 would you sell it to Pleno for £1k?

No chance.

Er thanks

I'm glad I only let you take 50% or I'd be feeling bad  Wink

Obv just takes a lot longer to ride through variance in 35's with them not running often.

Lol, thought I could get away with it having a small % of the $35s Smiley

$35s are no harder than $8s and $15s, so it's just variance.

I disagree that they are no harder than the 8's, I certainly have an edge in them though, and there is still a lot of klompers in them. They are a little tougher because a lot of the mtt sicko's play the 35's but a lot of them definitely have leaks in these games.

Just what I've picked up from the 180-man regs thread on 2+2.

They say it's $35, 15, 8 in order of easiest-->most difficult at the moment.

Rly? I am following that thread and not the impression I got!

Someone ss'd every decent 180 reg and put them together for 2012 and found they had 7% roi over 20k+ sample in 35's. I find it hard to believe that would be true for 15's and 8's.

This is a common claim by ppl, that x level is easier than y level even though y level is a higher buyin. I reckon 90+% of the time that is bs.

I went out early on Friday as a few people from work where out, had a fun day with some interesting spots. I used to be pretty decent at pool as I used to play all the time but I never play anymore so I'm pretty terrible, after a couple of games though I played ok and won the 2nd game of killer but ofc was nowhere near as good as I used to be. We then played a game of doubles, I suggested playing £2 a man just for bit of fun and I wouldn't want to say anymore as obv I will gamble for decent amounts at pretty much anything but wouldn't expect anyone else to. My doubles partner said lets play for £20 and we ended up doing £10 a man, we lost the 1st game and I suggested double or quits ofc, they agreed and we lost again, sighhhhh. I then offered to play the better of the two, knew they other one wouldn't play, for £50. I lost and didn't care as it was just a bit of fun but think I looked like a bit of a cock by not caring about losing £80 which I think got a couple of people's backs up, sigh. I'm never flash with money, I never often have much to be flash with, seriously though I never chuck money about in front of people as I wouldn't want to seem like I was showing off but I think it's pretty fair game that I'd want to try and win my money back.  Then someone said the following " you have no respect for money", which I snap agreed to and don't actually see this as a flaw but maybe it is, my comeback to that is you couldn't do what I do if you did care about money which may also be bs ?

It always makes me uncomfortable when people ask how pokers going, for instance people asked on Friday so I said how I'd done this month but I always think people will think I'm bragging etc so I try just to not talk about it, normally I just say good/bad but they normally persue it. It also kinda tilts me that people do ask how much I've made as most people would think it was cheeky if I asked what wages someone was on. I also always am honest about when I'm doing shit and I'm happy to say when I'm knocking it in, I probably actually prefer it when people ask when I'm in a downswing.

Despite those little shenanigans I had a really good laugh and it was good to catch up with people, don't remember getting home but housemate told me it was around 2am, spent most of yday dying and gutted that we messed up in the Cup, I can't believe how terrible our record is in Fa Cup, never reached past the 4th round in 7 years, WTF.

I didn't drink at all yesterday as I planned to grind today but I've ended up taking it off anyway, no real reason I just don't feel like grinding today, Played the $215 tcoop event backed by James but never got above ss Sad Playing the milllion sat which I've just realised I've been satout of for the first 5mins whilst typing this lol, wpwp.

Up to yerself, but not so sure telling people what you're making/losing outside of the poker world is a good idea.  They just won't get it and the wrong person might try to use that info to their advantage at some point.

I've found being an overly honest person can bite you hard in the arse sometimes.  Damned if you do and damned if you don't.  Maybe say "Doing ok" or "Not going so well these days", as it's better than saying it's none of their business.  lol  But deffo don't give figures imo.

That is what I do, normally convo goes like this,

them : "hows poker going"

me : "good/bad"

them : "what's good though?"

me : " I do alright"

them : " well what's alright"

FFS...

I then explain average winrates and games I play a day but sometimes when I cba to go through all that I just think fuck it and say whatever I've made that month. I've never said to anyone it's none of your business as I get that it's unusual and I do appreciate peoples interest I just mean I don't think people should persue it like above which happens quite a bit, that is unless everyones fine with me asking how much wages they make then fair game, but I doubt most people wouldn't think that was rude, probably not explaining myself that well here.

They shouldn't pursue it so maybe turn tables on them and ask what they make each year and how it compares to their bills.  Obv laugh it off as yer asking, but it might drive the point home and shut them up.

All else fails, something along the lines of "It's very hard to explain to a non-player, but I'm not in debt over it so that's a good thing."  Vagueness ftw!

Definitely ask to see their wage slip.  When they refuse, point out that's what they just asked you.  "I make a crust doing it" is all they need to know from a polite enquiry.

As for the "no respect for money" - whilst it is no bad thing when playing, it is a bad thing when not playing.  So you need to be able to flick that switch.  Everyone does what they have to do to make money, then when it comes to spending it, it doesn't matter how you earned it.  It's not like the pub landlord has any more respect for the price of your pint than he does the price of the pint from the roadsweeper.

yo ray, nice post.. Why not say yeh my roi is x for this month? Most people know what roi is, they will still probably ask more but may be a good tactic.

The old me would always brag, last year i told everybody i knew twice that i had a 30k month and nobody at all when i had a -5k month. I think thats the old me and i can definitely learn something from you about humility and ethics etc.

Im quite similar to you with the disrespect of money i spend a ridiculous amount on taxis every week when i could just walk 15 minutes. One thing i really struggle with is differenciating poker money and real life money, if i have a 6 minute walk and ive just ggd 500 in the casino its an abs million that i walk.

At work we get free food every day 24/7. Around 90pc of the time i eat out when theres no real need to. I have a friend who plays mid stakes and would never ever eat out and is a complete life nit eveb though he probablu 5b bluffs 200 dollars whilst eating his ham sandwich.

Do people agree that most non-gamblers would know what roi was ? I wouldn't think so.

I try harder not to be wasteful, I know if I won a decent chunk again I would handly it differently but don't regret doing what I did with MC money ( Monte Carlo that is not James' money). I even got on the bus last weekend  Grin

So gutted that we blew the cup game, tried to make it seem not as bad because Brighton got Liverpool but I'm right in thinking we'd have been a different number so could've still got a good draw no ?
