Mate
I have just seen in another thread that you have never been to the races?!?!?!?
I can highly recommend the Northumberland Plate (last Saturday in June) @ Gosforth Park. Get tickets for the encloure.
It is wall to wall with Georgie magic (and where I met my wife). If the weather is good, it really is a top draw day out!
It really is a good and right on your door step!

I was ment to go to the Plate last year but it didn't end up happening. Looks like that thread could take off so can kill two birds with one stone as never been to Ireland and have been looking to for a few years, smitten for the Irish accent

Dunno what's a matter with me the last couple of days, feel fine and been t-total to grind, was really tempted to go out yday but faded it to grind today. Although I didn't get a great sleep I did start a session but I just really wasn't in the mood to grind, I then messed up when I had a few final tables; previous hand villain had KK and doubled, he then open limps next hand so I wanted to quickly check if he had limped the KK, I had 77, can't rly remember stacks, so I checked and he'd jammed the KK so I'm now pretty happy to jam here, I then just have a complete brainfart moment and just click the raise button, WTF, oh it's on the wrong table, FFS, as I'm that golden at the minute someone in front had jammed light I had A9 and held, so ridic lol.
So that was enough to make up my mind to finish the session early, at that point I was probably around b/e, hadn't looked but you always kinda roughly know, then finished off really well to ship another comma day, sure could run better.

Just spoken to James for a bit on Skype and we both agreed that I'd go onto my own dime after today, I wanted to get to 5k just to be comfortable but balance I have should be suffice and if I do go on a massive downswing then James is obv happy to back me again. I've said it a few times itt but can't express enough how grateful I am to him. So I'm now playing everything bar the 35's on my own roll, yay.
Current bankroll : $4694.23
35's bankroll : $2007.54
Lets gogogogogogo.

Cheers, I'm expecting a downswing to come as I've been pretty golden this month but haven't had one worse than 2.5k so far so that would be ok. Hopefully the upswing isn't over yet though

I'm never going to keep more than 5k on Stars as there's just no need so I won't bother posting the current balance anymore but I will continue to post daily/monthly results to show how the grind is going. I will also regularly post my travelling bankroll, can't book up until 11 months before I go so will be booking up April/May time but can still begin saving as I'm definitely doing this, already excited about it, wish I could book up earlier so I could have a set date but nevermind, gonna be incred. Anyone suggest any decent savings accounts please ? I know you don't get much but may as well get one sorted solely just to keep the money separate from my normal account so I don't spend it.

Np's, posted this a couple of pages back...
One major motivation I will have is I've decided I'm 100% going to go travelling, just fired off some enquiries to about 10 different places that do RTW trips. I'm going to book it up as soon as I get the $4k bonus from rb at the end of March. By then I'll have cut out a few direct debits that are either gone due to moving house or the main one which is the credit card which will be paid off by then also, that will leave me with just my 02 bill and Sky as I'm keeping that going as I can use Sky Player but that only costs me £8, then ofc cost of the new place as well but I should pretty easily reach the 20k target as all the rb bonuses alone will be 5figs if I reach 200k vpps and what better motivation could I have. I'm planning to go circa March 2013, at first I was thinking to wait until August as that would mean I'd seen through all the familys birthdays, then I realised that's a pretty pointless and very dumb idea since I plan to be away for a full year, japes. This is the trip I hope to do: London-Cape town or Johannesburg-USA-Auckland-Sydney-Bangkok-London. I definitely want to include Africa to do some volunteer work, think that'll be such an enriching experience and so rewarding, also super keen to go to Oz, only place I'm not to fussed on is Bangkok but may as well check it out since it's on my way home Grin Cos seems to love it over there so maybe he'll still be there in 2014 to show me how to party in Thailand.
Might be going a slightly different route now though which would be London – Johannesburg – Bangkok – Sydney – Auckland – LA – London, cost of this is £1495 for this April/May. Africa isn't really very popular it seems so isn't part of most of the routes.

Reason SA isn't popular in May because of weather I'd assume, bear in mind it's summer during our winter etc
