Also, you mentioned Bangkok for Thailand. I know a lot of poker players who live in Thailand now - a lot of great guys. Several have lived between Phuket and Bangkok and it's pretty much universal that Phuket is better. Woodsey..?

surely that's because you're in phuket. if you were living in bangkok you'd find the opposite

People on the whole say wherever they are is the nuts, if you look at the 2+2 forums on Thailand most of the poker players there are evenly split between Bangkok and Phuket, and there are also a reasonable number in Chiang Mai and Pattaya and they all argue their case as to why each is best. Any of those could be a good place to go depending on what your priorities were.

If you didn't think your resort was the best, you'd move to where you thought was.

Wii just caught up on a lot today.

Congrats on a great month. Run hottt on your own dime and keep up the volume! A lot of the monies you win between now and when you go travelling will go a lot further in some of the countries you'll go to than they do over here.

Pretty sure just about everyone I know knows what ROI is. It's a relatively standard term, no?

+1 to what Simon Galloway said - just snap say 'I'll tell you what I made this month if you tell me what you did'. If they call your bluff just say a figure around about the same as theirs. If they don't, np.

It's a lose lose situation otherwise imo. If you lose and tell people, they'll not think you can do it for a living. If you're winning a chunk, you're a showoff.

Also, you mentioned Bangkok for Thailand. I know a lot of poker players who live in Thailand now - a lot of great guys. Several have lived between Phuket and Bangkok and it's pretty much universal that Phuket is better. Woodsey..?

Cheers, as for volume, if I can't get motivated to grind when this is the carrot at the end of the stick I never will be.

I don't think many people I know would know what roi meant, seems that was the general consensus itt also.

The thing is I think people will think it's cheeky if you ask them which is ofc lolridic but just cba with it, think I'm just going to go with the organic grapes response tbh.

No right answer really, depends what you want from a place and if your a beach person or city person blah de blah, I'd choose Chiang Mai if it were me.

I hate the beach, sand tilts me no end.

My priorities are basically somewhere where there are good places to visit and basically just have a laugh. As I mentioned I'm not really that fussed on going to Asia, just a stop gap really, plus it's ridic cheap which will help after Dubai's tempted me into some sick safari that cost 5 bags for a day out.

Lol I'm with you on beaches, can't stand sitting on them, don't mind the views though. Also a tip for getting cheaper safaris in some sick places is go at the end of season when the rates are lower. I've been on 3 or 4 pretty sick ones in Botswana and Zambia in Dec just before they closed at end of season that were excellent value even if still relatively expensive compared to what I normally pay for trips.

Why was MOTD on yday and not today when they could've showen all 10 games ? Just to do the 10 minute program at the end of the show for the transfer window ? Bizzare! Also why are they not allowed to put MOTD on iplayer ?

You can get it on thebox.bz to download which is very quick but takes ages to seed on some stuff.

Haha, it sure wasn't meant as a rub. I decided to be brave in my response and not put a cheesy smiley at the end of it so you knew I was joking, I can't be doing with those sort of devilish antics though, I'm not The Tank, won't happen again  Wink
