Have to wait until October for more TWD. Sad

On a brighter note one week until GoT.

Might have to start on TWD soon, but I'm working my way through the 5th season of Blue Bloods atm.

Great ending to TWD, had no idea it would play out like that and really wet the appetite for next season.

Anyone watching W1A?  Thought it was as good a comedy/satire as I have seen on the BBC since the Thick of It.

Been enjoying True Detective, but jeez, the mumbling?!?!

This week we had to wind back the conversation between Rust and Laurie half a dozen times, then gave up and had to work out how to put subtitles on.

Did no one in the editing suite think "hmm, not sure that's audible."

Good, but not quite as good as 2012 was.

Had never heard of 2012 but started watching it yesterday so thanks for that.  Is pretty good.  Wasn't as taken with W1a last night tbh.

W1A has been a bit of a let down for me.

Too many of the characters are just one-joke people (posh 'yeah, ok, great' intern, 'Welsh 'I'm not being funny but' woman, the bald guy with glasses) with a one joke which is rubbish.

What the writers obviously did was replicate a load of Siobhans, thinking that would be funny in and of itself. What they missed is that Jessica Hynes is an amazing comic actress who turned that one-joke character and made her hilarious. The writers then shot themselves in the foot completely by getting Siobhan back in this series, immediately showing up everyone else to be the cardboard cut-outs they are.

It'll only get worse next week when Sally comes back and we get Olivia Colman outacting people.

Yeah I think that is why it was a bit of a letdown last night for me.  Given I hadn't watched 2012 I watched a few episodes of w1a and it was funny.  Yesterday having watched 3 episodes of 2012 just before I watched W1a it just seemed a bit one dimensional.

Something that may have slipped under the radar for many is Bluestone 42.
A bomb-disposal squad in Afghanistan with some bits of black humour alongside some less cerebral stuff.
Kind of British M*A*S*H for the current world, although that may be over-egging it a little.

Anyway, Season 2 just finished but I'd recommend looking out Season 1 before viewing Season 2.

If you like Bluestone 42 I think you will like 'Gary Tank Commander'. It's pretty much the Scottish version of B42 but much much funnier imo.

I watched 1 episode of that Bluestone thing.
Thought it was one of the most horribly written, hammy delivered things I'd seen in years.

Certainly no MASH
