I hate TV with a passion. Or at least I hate 99% of the tripe that is shown on British TV and much prefer the American stuff that is being made (24, Arrested Development, Soprano's, The Wire, The Shield etc etc). Could any of you fine gentleman recommend some other stuff for me to watch.

Also is Breaking Bad any good? Heard decent things about it but I'm super lazy and would ideally like to know it's worth the time and effort before I start watching it.

Cheers.

you obv haven't read this thread if you're asking about breaking bad (don't blame you, it is 69 pages). everyone loves it, it's amazingly good, watch it but make sure you've got about a week with nothing to do cos it's one of those ones where you'll just want to watch the lot straight through

Deadwood is a good recommendation on previous page.  Great stuff.  One I like that doesn't get that much love is Six Feet Under.

Right, cheers guys. Will start with Breaking Bad and move onto Deadwood. Got plenty of time on my hands as I'm waiting to start my new job so I need stuff to watch! Thoroughly bored atm.

think six feet under got some love earlier in the thread. I love it, was the best thing on tv when it first aired and my introduction to the really good hbo programmes

I'm working atm but I've got a 1.5tb portable with TV shows on and I'll list them when I'm back over there and then you can go through IMDB to see what ones you fancy.

Six Feet Under I watched earlier this year, great show and I think I went through it in about 3 weeks Cheesy

Nice one, would really appreciate that.

Just watched the first episode of Breaking Bad, looks excellent. Fell in love instantly as soon as I realised it was Hal from Malcolm in the Middle.

problem with Deadwood is the complete lack of an ending.
Wasn't there supposed to be two feature lengths that were going to tie it all up that never got made.

Shame

Yeah they intended to make two 2 hour TV movies to close it out but never got them done. He's still maintaining as of last year that he hopes to get to doing them. McShane has been saying for years it's done though so I doubt it.

I'll take 3 seasons of great TV over an ending which is lacking in closure every time #glasshalffull Smiley
