Was a washout, IS a washout , Your a mug !
Yeah, yeah, yeah...I know. Will post an explanation for the rest of ya later.
Sighhhhhhhhhhhh
As for the reason I was being called a mug? I picked the horses for the competition, but I refused to back most of them with my own money because their odds were so short. Apparently I'd have made a nice wee chunk of change by doing something called an accumulator? Dunno. Don't ask me. I'm not a betting girl.

sounds fair enough to me dawn - if you're just having a fun punt with your own money e/w back the longer odds horses innit - don't think it makes you a mug.

Cheers all!
Tikay knows me too well. I'm not the type to rush out and randomly spend a win. I tend to think it through first, coming up with a plan for every penny. Apart from stopping for lunch and buying a lotto ticket, I didn't spend a penny. Wouldn't have even bothered with the lotto ticket as I don't normally buy them, but my neighbour kind of pushed the idea. Bridget was disgusted with me. "Can't believe you didn't do ANY shopping while you were in town!" I keep telling her I don't like shopping. She refuses to believe it.
The kids have surprised me. They've not asked for anything. That said, we always make sure they have what they need. Actually, Sarah did have two requests. She just wanted to see the money for a start. Once she had it in her hands, she said with a wee grin, "I've always wanted to throw a pile like this up in the air. Can I?" "Go on then, but you can be picking it up after!" lol
Sinéad's laptop will definitely be bought this week-end. As it was always the plan to get her one in August, may as well do it now. I'll use the money I'd been putting away for it towards one of my trips instead.
Brian got a fit of giggles when he heard I hadn't actually backed most of the horses with my own money. "Well done ya eejit." That's my boy. lol He's staying at Uni again this week-end to finish off a project. He'd no special requests, so I'll just surprise him by tossing a wee bit extra into his bank account. He's home again next week-end. I'll wait til then to take them out for Sunday dinner to a place we all love but don't get to very often because it's a bit pricey.
And last, but certainly not least...Cassie and Lily are getting the mother load of doggy treats bought for them. We're hitting the pet superstore when we go lappy shopping. There aren't any good shops near us for things like that, so as we're making the trip to Tralee, we'll be stocking up big style for them.
Very little in the line of 'bills' to pay, but I'll clear them anyway. And the rest goes towards my trips...Vegas especially. Never been there before. No excuse now. REALLY looking forward to November!
