Barium?

That's the one.  Rumour has it, it's yucky.  But I've the constitution of an ox so yucky shouldn't be too much trouble.

Actually...I lied.     Just checked the prescription for the drink thingy and it's picolax.  I'm to drink it the day before according to the website I just stumbled on to.  Not having a CT scan.  That would be MILES too easy.  lol  Nope...having a full on camera jobbie done.

Well and truly from what I've read.  Good job I don't work.  It's suggested you take the afternoon off if ya have a job.  Also good that I have tearing road up the stairs for the loo between poker hands down to a fine art.  Means I've half a chance of getting there in time.

WARNING - Possibly not for the squeamish!!!

Well, that was interesting.  Got to see some of me insides right up on the telly.  Went where they could without knocking me out and all was crystal clear.  This is most excellent news in that at least half of me is grand.

Unfortunately their wee camera could only go so far.  Not long enough to do a full scope apparently.  Pity.  Kinda figured as I was handling it so well, they'd just carry on and do the lot.  She may have been joking, but when I said that to the tech Chick, she laughed and replied "You've been so calm, I wouldn't hesitate to carry on if I had the right equipment."  Marv.

Ah well.  They want me back again for a full jobbie as they couldn't find any problems in the 'half' version.  Must drink some thing or other the day before.  Least that's what I think she said.  They're sending me an instructions letter for the drink along with the next appointment date in the post.

When's the next appointment?  Initially I was told in the next two to three weeks.  Quick run of dates in me head, "I was hoping to go to Newcastle from the 21st of April for a few days.  Don't suppose that's still possible?"

"We'll make it possible.  Book your trip and I'll sort your appointment for right after you get back."

wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii - APAT Newcastle...here I come!!!  No point sitting round stewing about things when I can get out and have a laugh with friends.

At least now I'm not worried about the next round of tests as I know what to expect.  Mo was bang on.  It's uncomfortable, but doesn't hurt as such.  Results are a thing of nothing now.  I've it in me head everything's going to be ok...and that's half the battle won right there.

Nice one Dawn. The next one when you drink the posted liquids, you also get a little needle to relax the bowel so to speak half way through. plus they tilt you around on a motion bed lol...Tea n Biscuits after but I didn't hang round for them. Great news, pleased for you. xx

Motion bed and wee needle?!  WTF?!  FFS!  Was just getting me head round the idea of an extra long camera wire.  Ah well.  Last bit wasn't as bad as I'd expected, so - thing of nothing.  Will just keep telling meself that.  Thing of nothing.  xx

Now that I've been given the nod to book it, I'm off!!!  Catch being - Jet2 only fly to/from Cork/Newcastle on Fridays and Sundays.

"Oooooooooh Gerrrrrrrrr.  When ya going to Newcastle?"

"Leaning to Thursday.  Why?"

Gave him my reasons for asking and got back...."I will be going Thursday then - Jeez woman."

I really do adore that man.  He's surely due a medal of some sort for putting up with me all this time.  But to put up with me during a 3 hour drive...each way?  Sainthood imo.

Enjoy Newcastle and feck the rest, it shall be dealt with upon your return from the castle of New of which you shall be wielding with a mighty fecking glass effigy and a few tortoise in your handbag!!

Going to dig out the lotto ticket I bought last week for a check.  Reckon today's the perfect day to discover a win because nobody would believe ya when ya tell them.  And in return, they can't give out to ya for not telling them a couple of months down the line when yer off on a holiday.

Well, didn't win the lotto (obv rigged)  so I suppose will have a go at the golf and the Grand National instead to pass the time away.

Masters dark horse picks for a wee each way are:

R Allenby
I Poulter
P Harrington
Y-E Yang (added late purely for fun to join the forum sweat)

And for the Grand National we've got this lot on wee each ways:

Bigfella Thanks
Oscar Time
Backstage
The Midnight Club

I feel a week-end thrown in front of the telly coming on.  Nothing new there then.

Willie Twiston-Davies and Baby Run - what a great run they had!!!  After the fall he had in Cheltenham it was awesome to see the pair come back and crush their race today.  I was on Boxer George e/w but found meself willing Baby Run FTW.  Just sooooo delighted they got there.

As for Denman?  Would have been great to see Ruby get the hat trick today, but it takes two to cross the line.  I'm not sure how anyone could see their way to a bookie with 50k in backing!  That was someone with more money than sense.  Pure madness imo.  Denman's a Cheltenham horse but doesn't like Aintree.  Sure, I'm just a chick who hasn't a clue...but I do believe horses can be a bit like people sometimes.  If they don't like a track, they ain't winning on that track.  Doesn't matter how good they are everywhere else.

You can say it's all hindsight talk here, but I put three locals off placing bets on Denman earlier today.  Almost left the last one place the bet because I was worn from repeating meself, but luckily she gave it up in the end.  As it happens, I'd Nacarat (LOVE greys!!!) & Carole's Legacy on wee e/w's for that one.  Hope the rest of you had a good day at the races.
