Colin - i didnt realise RR monitor all engines in real time from Derby! Thats impressive!
The manufacturers guides really have been shown to be ridiculous... it'll be years before there is no volcanic ash in the atmosphere. Here's hoping for some wind to help us out over the next couple of days to get things back on track. I think 24 hour flying into LHR should be given for a few days too... wouldn't be popular with some though I'm happy to give up a bit of sleep for a working airport!
pprune really does deliver on everything aviation.
All in a positive day. It shouldnt have taken 5 days to get here but fingers crossed this is the begining of the end.
Yep pprune is great, have a read of the thread about the hosties strike, very interesting. Also the thread about stupid things passengers do.
All in all i'am glad i'am not on shift t'mow,I can't see many flights getting out maybe a handful and Heathrow will be more chaotic than usual.Luckily I'am on a course for the new 1st class product, have you seen it,it's the nuts.
and BTW get in 2-0

Yeah, read that thread daily! First found pprune in 2002 when I was looking to become a pilot! Keep up to date with the BA stuff on there now - its amazing how accurate some of it is!
Do you know if there has been any 24hr flying at LHR, after 9/11 etc?
I saw the 1st class when it was in WTS, have to say I was a little unwhelmed but think it looks a lot slicker than the current one. I'm still a J class fan...food more suitable to my pallet and if I can get laid I'm always happy!
I'll have to find a good business reason for me to have a trip over to T5 engineering when all this gets cleared up, if you fancy giving me a tour!
Championship confirmed too! Happy days!

Errupting again now...NATS statement doesn't sound good. My GF is stuck in the US, about to miss a big birthday and god knows when a standby will get on a flight when we do start flying.

Does this volcano make a noise, whats it sound like
I asked a travel agent if people are allowed to stay in their hotel rooms after their leaving date.
She said as the new visitors cannot get to the hotel, they can stay in their rooms
