Over the past 5 World Cups, England have the worst record in penalty shoot-outs. Germany, the best. Who'd have thought?

Really don't fancy Portugal at all. Reckon they could be early casualties with the French.

Really don't fancy Portugal at all. Reckon they could be early casualties with the French. Also if Portugal don't win the group they'll likely face Spain in the second round (serbia vs Portgual could be a push obv). I like Brent's side of the bet for both Serbia and USA. Cameroon seem to be unsettled leading up to the start what with Eto threatening to walk out and all. As for Spain and Brazil may as well go to a PLO table and have a $30 flip and get it over with now.

Great bet listed in the RP yesterday. Back England to get knocked out in the second round (@ 3-1).
the opponents are likely to be Germany or Serbia, and they surely wouldn't start bigger than 3-1 to progress to the next round so you can then just lay them off....happy days.

Todays bets:
S Africa v Mexico - probably 2 of the more open teams in the tournament, although will be interesting to see how SA approach the game. Been impressed with Mexico in the build up and can see them scoring at least 2 goals in this match £4 S Africa v Mexico over 2.5 goals @ 2.6
Uruguay v France - not really sure which way this will go, 2 very average sides in my opinion so just having a punt for fun on a 50/50 bet with decent odds £3 Uruguay first corner v France @ 2.2

I agree with Matt50 - think the first game is going to be very open with two teams who can both score goals and ship some at the back. Add in the unpredicatble beachball they're using and I think there'll be goals.
S Africa v Mexico
£50 over 2.5 goals at 2.72 £10 over 4.5 goals at 13.5
I've also laid France for £50 at 2.28.

First advert break on ITV during the World Cup featured, in order, an advert for a barbecue, 101 barbecue songs, Heinz ketchup (set at a barbecue), Asda (featuring a barbecue) and the Pimms advert showing the ingredients ariving at a barbecue.
WTF?
