I have seen Harley play for Exeter a few times and rate him as well, in fact Norwich were linked with him early last season. I agree that I think he is Championship quality but maybe not more than that.

Which player were you most Impressed with this season?
3 League 1 players I think of imeadiately are ryan harley from Exeter, already signed for Swansea for next season, clever footballer, scored plenty, for him, perhaps better they don't go up in a way as a big jump straight to Prem, but in the Champ next year could do very well.
Gary Jones from Rochdale, real inspiration for them, got 15+ goals from CM in a team faves for relegation, who just missed the play-offs, beat Southampton home and away. keith Hill doin wonders there.
Anthony Pilkington from Huddersfield, before he broke his leg in march, very good player I think, def a Champ player next year, 2 genuine feet.
Thats just off the top of my head, sure theres a few from Brighton/Saints, but I didn't see Saints at all, and Brighton only once, where they lost.
When i read the question i hoped you would pick Pilks out, was gutted for the lad when he broke his leg. Play offs made for a kid like him big loss.
Yeah, his bro still at Stockport too meant to be decent-ish.
Going tonight?

99% sure last night was the last game of the season for me.
Youth Cup Final 2nd leg at Old Trafford, V Sheffield Utd, finished 4-1 to Utd, 6-3 over 2 legs.
Paul Pogba from Utd, tempermental, nonchalent, but boy would you like to wrap him up in cotton wool and kiss him goodnight.
You couldn't make up who scored the Sheff Utd goal, a certain number 9.

Greer/Dicker maybe, think Greer is class...
Was disappointed in the front 3...
Wood is pretty poor to be honest, he doesn't ever link up with the other two. Greer was a good signing, and I was laughing at him for his red card in the play-off semi's and then gets sent off on his home debut too!
Murray is top 3 striker in League 1 with CMS + Hoskins IMO.
Lambert would be instead of Murray for me, but you would have seen far more of him than me so I'll take your word.
But when Lambert is poor, he can look a carthorse...
Murray came 2nd in player of the year in L1. Guy is f***** quality, he has so much class for league 1 in the last two years, he is really underrated.
Confirmed he has signed for Palace on a free transfer - great signing for us IMO and Brighton must be gutted to lose him to Palace of all teams

Looking as an outsider, at current vibes etc, why would he join Palace over whats going on at Brighton?
Any other reasons bar the $$$?

Brighton fans would be able to answer better than me, but i think money is the main reason here.
It is rumoured he has been offered around 10k a week - Brighton were not willing to go above £6.5k.
That in itself proves how much ambition Brighton have.
I think he is 27, so probably his last chance at a decent pay day unless he sets the league on fire next season and gets a move to the Prem, so you cant really blame him for taking the best offer financially.
Or maybe the bottom line is that he just knows who the bigger club is....................

What an excellent and absorbing read.
I just noticed this thread and have spent the morning reading through it.
Im a Carlisle exile and due to lving in far north of scotland find it difficult to get to many games but follow through media and fan forums as best as I can.
Hope you continue to post your travels and experiences next season.
As you say next season L1 is will have more northern teams and apart from a handful of southern teams is getting a look closer to when the current L1 & L2 were combined and split into a north and southern divison 3.
Cheers

Palace offered him just over 10k per week + 125/150k signing on fee (ridic overpaid, bradley johnson wants 6.5k per week at leeds and they wont oiffer him that). Average championship wage is apparently about 5k, and he has never played a minute of champ football. Gus said we have offered him the most he is worth, and people in the know seem to think we will offer the player 10k a week if he is worth it.
He is miles better than Ashley Barnes, who got 2 goals less, but Hoskins (signed him for 500k) got 20 goals in a terrible team so we will see. Front 3 options of Murray, Hoskins and Barnes would have been good enough.
End of the day we will get bigger home crowds and away crowds than Palace, and will finish above them in the league, so not for footballing reasons!

Also he has always been trying to leave, 2 transfer requests, doing a v sign to the brighton fans at an away game when we got on his back etc, i thought it was because he is from up north but obviously not!

You seen much of Crewe'a Clayton Donaldson last season? Top League 2 goalscorer and is a target for Bradford. Would be a decent signing for us imo.
