You seen much of Crewe'a Clayton Donaldson last season? Top League 2 goalscorer and is a target for Bradford. Would be a decent signing for us imo.
I have seen a fair bit of him yeah, nearly 30 goals last year, out of contract, in fairness I think he could/should be looking at L1 clubs, but maybe Bradford are offering him good terms, Crewe are not really in a position to offer him what he wants financially.
He would be a good signing, but it would surprise me.

Bennett going to Norwich for £1.6M
Buckley to Brighton for £1M.
Anyone seen Buckley play? Saw him against us in fa cup but don't remember him, so can't have been that good?!

As you know we were in for him in January, so this isn't really a surprise. We have certainly been very active, which was Lambert's MO last close season, to get everyone in early.
If you have a decent 20something in the football league we are probably interested!

Would be a very good signing IMO - very good goalkeeper, one of the best in the Championship.

Yeah very good keeper, surprised he isn't pushing for a Prem move to be honest. Weale finished?

Weale a good Number 2 keeper at this level, too inconsistent, lots of mistakes second half of the season (but then again in and out the team and lots of changes in front of him in defence can affect confidence)

Greer/Dicker maybe, think Greer is class...
Was disappointed in the front 3...
Wood is pretty poor to be honest, he doesn't ever link up with the other two. Greer was a good signing, and I was laughing at him for his red card in the play-off semi's and then gets sent off on his home debut too!
Murray is top 3 striker in League 1 with CMS + Hoskins IMO.
Lambert would be instead of Murray for me, but you would have seen far more of him than me so I'll take your word.
But when Lambert is poor, he can look a carthorse...
Murray came 2nd in player of the year in L1. Guy is f***** quality, he has so much class for league 1 in the last two years, he is really underrated.
Confirmed he has signed for Palace on a free transfer - great signing for us IMO and Brighton must be gutted to lose him to Palace of all teams
Not gutted now
Hope your CB's have fun with CMS running them down for 95 minutes!

Anthony Pilkington from Huddersfield, before he broke his leg in march, very good player I think, def a Champ player next year, 2 genuine feet.
Signed for Norwich today for 1.75M.

Hi Chipprince,
Not posted on here before but enjoyed the read, Whats your thoughts on my team Walsall's new signings of Ryan Jarvis, Kevan Hurst and Claude Gnakpa? and do you think we will be in a relegation dogfight again this year?
I sometimes play poker with your chairman Robbie Cowling what are the expectations this year for C United?
cheers

I've been meaning to post on here for the last few days.
The departure of Mark Robins and subsequent appointment of Keith Hill has seen Barnsley take a very distinct step towards recruiting from the lower divisions. It's risky, it will 100% ensure we start the season as relegation favourites as usual, but I'm quite intrigued to see how the new season goes. My main problem is I know virtually nothing about our new signings, apart from a little knowledge of Craig Davies via his exploits at Chesterfield last season.
Would appreciate your views on the following list of nobodies and their prospects of playing at the Championship level:
Craig Davies (Chesterfield)
David Perkins (Colchester)
Matt Done (Rochdale)
Scott Wiseman (Rochdale)
James McNulty (Brighton)

I saw Perkins play a couple of times season before last and was very impressed. Boothroyd didn't fancy him at Colchester probably because he actually is more a creative, passing type than a hoofer.

All I know about him is he won 4 POTY awards at Colchester last season, and that he'll need a bucketload of suncream for the early fixtures!

Seen Perkins
diminutive midfielder, very fair haired.
Good creative player but can get bullied out of it a lot. Might suit the Ch more than L1 I think

- Craiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig Davies, 1 goal in about 20 games for us, complete shambles (that was in league 1), very pacey but was known as barndoor down here
- McNulty was looking to be a very good player, then was out injured for 15 months and sent him out on loan as Poyet didn't fancy him, wouldnt have a chance when Painter is ahead of you, best LB i have seen in league 1
