I must admit I am thinking along the same lines. Also Kev used to rail ppl a lot for the PRO and to do that you have to login to your full tilt account.

I hope Kev uses his right to reply to fully explain the situation.

Had actually been filled in on this story just before finding Tighty had posted it up here. I heard it from "camp Kev" so thought maybe it was bias as it didn't sound feasible that that was all there was to it.

Now I see that indeed, that was all there was to it.

The money was transfered in an open and above board fashion. The money has sat there ever since and has never been inappropriately used or disappeared.

As you say, obviously an oversight, as Kev had nothing to gain in any way from his actions.

This has been dealt with in a completely unbusinesslike manner.

Whether you like Kev or not, whether you understand mental illness or not, can any one justify treating someone in this way - making him an outcast amongst his peers and social circle - when all he did was forget to finish the transaction? He has had plenty of time and opportunity to spend that cash himself if this was his plan, so it patently obviously wasn't ever on his agenda.

Shame on you.

On the other hand if it does come to the surface that Kev hasn't played at all on Full Tilt in the last 2 years then it obv means he didnt do it in any malicious way.

Still you would never ever forget about the money especially if as said above ^^^ that he logged in frequently, things just don't make sense.

Kev should be allowed to post screen shots of the account to prove that he hasn't used any of the money and deposited it back recently otherwise people will still doubt him.If it is the case that he has simply forgotten to do it I do think the punishment is very harsh.

I dont actually understand why he has been banned.

He has made an oversight/fail in his job as cardroom manager.
So the correct thing to do would be to discipline him.
Pretty sure you cant disipline someone who no longer works for you.

Obviously things had to be smoothed over with Brendans family and it sounds like thats been done.

I think most people would like to see him reinstated pretty soonish.
On the other hand the abusive poster is still here, I think most people would like to see him gone.

Its one thing to be seen to be doing the right thing, its another to disregard a friends well being in fear of getting a bit of stick.

I assume the initial verbal communication was with malicious intent as otherwise the matter would have been bought to Kev's attention rather then the rather dubious way it seems to have been handled?

I'm not trying to take sides (I haven’t spoken to anyone about the situation), but I see the issue at hand and the banning as separate points. There would seem no doubt to me that if the account of the situation is as described by Rich then I would certainly agree that Kev the employee of Blondepoker Cardroom was negligent and there should be some recourse for this (If it was still in existence, disciplinary action etc).

However Colch-Kev the forum member hasn’t actually done anything wrong and is unable to fight his corner regarding the issue because he was banned due to a touchy subject for all involved, yet ultimately they are un-related.

I hope everyone can resolve their differences and come to an amicable resolution.

Kev's promised a 100% honest account from his point of view on his blog.  Might be an idea for people to wait to see what he has to say before commenting further.

Some issues - plural - which involve Kev have come to light this week,

Since then, considerable time & energy has been spent dealing with them, & putting some things right. I also wanted time to reflect fully on the matters before taking any further action.

We are not dealing with gossip, rumour, or hearsay here. We are dealing with cold hard facts, all of them proofed in writing.

these matters need addressing.

I have just spoken to Kev personally, which, believe me, was not an easy call to make. I suggested to him that he should take a break from blonde, & I outlined why. He was not exactly thrilled with my line, but he agreed.

I have now spoken to Tighty, & Kev's Modship, & Membership of blonde, have both been removed.
 
It's not our intention or wish to divulge further details, though that may change. It would not be in anyone's best interest to press us further on this, & I hope you will take note of that.

I take full responsibility for the final decisions, although Tighty, Flushy & myself are all 100% in agreement on this.

Other actions, involving others, may or may not follow, as the matters develop.

Although it's been very difficult to handle, in my heart of hearts, I am absolutely certain that the actions taken were 100% necessary, & appropriate, despite the extremely awkward timing. Much as I flinched at the thought, I'm afraid that the nettle had to be grasped.

Kev has spent more time on blonde than anyone, & been an unpaid Mod for almost all of it, for which I am very grateful. He's also been a good mate to me & many others. I'm also fully aware that he is going through difficult times right now. I hope he gets everything in his life back in order very soon, I really do. For now, he will have to manage without blonde, & us without him.

A sad day, I'm afraid.
