Went to bed pretty late on Sunday and had to be up at 11am on Monday to fly to malta. I some how had the initiative to pack my cases at 5am, felt so proud of myself when I woke up!
Slept whole flight to Malta and then had another sleep in the hotel. Went down to the casino, met an old friend from Gibraltar then played some cash games. I played very good and won good amount (2/5/10) had a really good time and enjoyed myself. Was a little greedy at times with betting too much on the river, but got 2 3x pot river bets paid off. No super notable hands of note, had a really really good time though and enjoyed it. Getting to the island two days before everybody else, getting all my casino cards fixed, being comfortable in the hotel, playing with locals for a few days etc will hopefully give me an extra edge that a lot of other regs won't and will be looking to do this in future stops too.
Tomorrow is a day off, will probably go and watch Arsenal vs Bayern.
One of the best things about going to these stops is meeting guys you play against every day. Today I met apostils20 and he was such a nice guy. He lost quite a bit but he took it really well and he was a great guy. I'm going to try and post about different guys I meet in here.

Maybe it's will come across very badly but I was wasting some time throughout the match, especially in the second half trying to waste time. We were so tired so I told one of my players to go to the other side of the pitch and go down injured. He went down, I walked on slowly, treated him, walked off slowly. The other team got pissed. The ball then went out for a throw in, the ball was missing so they told me to kick another one in. I kicked it in as instructed and the other ball came into the pitch at the same time, the red thought I was trolling and sent me off. Guess karma prevailed.

5/10/20, good reg (3k deep) raises from bb to 75. I call from straddle (I cover) with j8ss
Flop AA8, check check
Turn AA85, he bets 100, I call
River AA856, he checks, I check
My image is very very laggy/shown down a lot of bluffs on the river
Wug?

good day, woke up late, went for really nice dinner and then went to watch Bayern vs Arsenal which was a sick match with Rupert and Elmerixx.
Went to play 5/10 and it played pretty big and had two massive whales on my right who donated a lot. I ran very well stacking the fish pretty deep with 66 vs at on a64.
Tomorrow is the 5k win the button, but if the games are going to be this good then probably will just keep playing cash games. Lets see how we feel tomorrow.

Played the 5k win the button 6 max tournament today, I felt so good playing the last 2 days and very comfortable that I was happy to play it even though there was 5 people regged. I won't go into reasons on who I think created value etc as they all probably read this thread. But I was more than happy to play.
Lots of interesting hands, think I played most of them good.
I limp cut off 4 handed with q8o (the way the table was structured I needed to have a limping range otherwise I would be in the bb every hand
Zisimo - a very aggro/wide Greek guy flat the button, Charlie Carrell completed sb, bb checked.
Flop A87hhx
I bet 600 into 600, both of them call
Turn A872hhx, I bet 2500 into 2400
I assumed Zisimo had Ax and combo draws, and probably Charlie too. I figured Zisimo would raise his big Ax pre and on the turn 3 handed would fold all his Ax but continue with his combo draws (I left spr:1 otr) Charlie would be raising pre flop with a9+ and would raise this flop with 2 pair+ so I felt pretty good about this spot.
Zisimo calls, Charlie sigh folds.
River A8724hhxxx
I check, Zisimo took long time and bet 3800 into 7500 (he had 6.5k total) I figured if he had a set/2 pair he would definitely jam river to get called by Ax when all the fkn draws miss. Its very unlikely he bets something like AT for value on the river. I have perfect hand to call with, q8 black, no hearts, no 9, no t, no j. Felt very good about calling, he can also not go all in because he's just trying to get me to fold better draws.
He had AK, which I was super, super, super (hello imgoat
) surprised about.
I like my logic throughout the hand.
Next hand is possibly terrible, villain is Charlie Carrell, who loves going crazy and making big river bets and overbetting/putitng people in tough spots etc.
He opens button, sb call, I call bb.
Flop T96, I check, he bets, i call.
Turn T965xxss, i check, he bets 1500 into around 2200, I fold.
Really tough spot, but I had stack size behind that he could really put pressure on with on the river and figured this isn't a board he bets twice and gives up with (I think he assumed very little fold equity ott)
I think its important to make these good/disciplined folds, but he told me he had a combo draw afterwards, pretty ok with it.
I made 4 2x+ pot river jams on the river which I won't go into. Couple of other pretty big pots too, playing 3-6 handed the whole time obviously made things pretty fun, especially against these lunatics.
My bust out hand was relatively std I think. I complete 63dd off just less than 20bb (if I give him a walk I'm automatically in the big blind rather than getting the button so think limping little wider is fine, he would definitely shove ax here..)
Flop is A98ddx, I min bet, he calls.
Turn is A984, i bet enough for spr:1 otr, he calls
River is A9845ddccc, I go all in, he calls J9ss.
Think my play is decent here, I'd give up on a lot of rivers I think, but felt like I'm legit bottom of range, some blockers, decent fold equity etc. I'm happy with the play anyway.
Very sad to bubble this SNG
but extremely happy with how things are going and very optimistic moving forward in this trip.
I think I spoke too much at the table though, it was very laid back and fun though, so its fine to embrace it a little, will be going for more silent assassin for rest of trip though.

€1k hyper was fun. Had starting table with very good friend Felix Stephenson so was fun to chat until busted level 8ish where reg opens, woman whale flats, sb rejams. I jam AQs. Reg folds, women says "hope you both have a pair" and calls A2o. I came in last place.
Very interesting hand first hand of the tournament. Fish opens to 150 at 50bb (15k stacks. I 3bet kqo to 650 in sb vs btn , Felix makes it 1400 in the big blind. We fold. Ok? Weak?

Chopped the 500 hyper as shortest stack with Matti De Meulder and Zisimo for 6.5k euros. Pretty happy about that, keeps momentum up and gives little bit of confidence.
Had fun hand.
He (Adam Owen) raises J2o in cut off and gets to showdown.
I limp bvb, Adam Owen checks. I check three times on QQ544 and he check/bet/check and I show down.
Very next hand, open, call, call, i call 75cc button, he calls sb.
Flop 882ss, checks round, i check. Turn 8826, he leads 600, i call button.
River 88262, he bets 1400, i make it 3000, he folds.
Think he's going to bet twice here pretty often and I can raise super small to get him to fold better draws/too thin value bets. He plays limit holdem a lot i think so gets to these rivers with pretty high frequency where I assume they bet any pair for value.
Lots of all ins and punishing guys folding their bb too much. Made one huge hero fold with AJs with 2 tables left, but had what I assumed were good live reads. Who knows though
IPT Main tomorrow. Vamo.

Busted level 4 in IPT. Reg opens, I flat KK. Dob Bartos who is local Dutch reg wearing hoody called "random button clicking reg" 3vets, he'd been active and in 3bet pots so I back raise. He jams and I call. He has AA.
Perfectly fine with it, wasn't tilted busting at all, but definitely super amazing tournament.
Taking rest of the day off, maybe grind online tonight.

Not a great day. Woke up at 5am annoyingly, quickly showered, got breakfast then started grinding live cash. Played good and made a little bit. One hand I was unsure about was when Italian reg tried to corn back to the table with 500 after cashing out 3500 opens cut off for 30 at 5/10, I make it 100 in sb with k9cc and he 4bet to 245. I had 1k total, probably should have just folded. Anyway won a little bit.
Went to register to the €500 turbo. Played pretty sick hand. I open red queens to 1700 MP (800bb) off around 20k. Next to act, good reg goes to what I assume 3bet to 4200, rechecks stack and flats (has around 20ish too) rest fold.
Flop 972hhd
I cbet 2100, he makes it 5200. Very gross spot, I decided to call and reevaluate.
Turn 9726hhdd
I c/f to his all in. I think I should just fold the flop, it's good to have the discipline to fold in these small tournamebts when there is a €25k on the tables next to us, but thjnk folding flop would be better when I block KQhh, aqhh, qjhh
Eventually bust in another hand I played poorly. First hand at a new table I have 28k at 2kbb. I raise to 4500 from mp. Zisimo now a friend! Had just told me he was really tilted as he was chip leader 5 hands ago and had now lost all his chips, went all in for 19,5, the big blind then over called all in for 10k. Was 15.5k to call and 38k or so in the pot. I thought the bb was just getting it in joke wide and wouldn't be surprised to see zisi rejam a2s or 87s etc. I should have just open folded pre flop though and be more sure of all stack sizes etc.
I next played a flip out, I got heads up in my table and we were supposed to be all in. I won the flip and was supposed to progress to ft, but they changed the rule that we had to win 6 more all ins than our opponent (I know right..) 3 hands later they change the rule again to we just go all in and my opponent won. Whatever, not going to argue
Went downstairs to cash still feeling ok. I get a a amazing 3 handed game with 2 fish at 25/50 Holdem but they both snap quit to move to 2/5 and my ego didn't want to go to play that so I played 5/10/20 PLO vs Lautie, two regs and two fish. I lost a little bit and just decided to call it a day.
I think quitting when you're perhaps not playing good is very important, so was glad I had the discipline to do it, especially on a Friday night when games are juiciest. I thought it was more important to try and go and sleep and be ready for the €2k highriller today. This is a tournament I've never done well in, but I think it really suits my style. Hoping for a run today!
€25k field looked amazing in the end to me, should probably just man up and play all of them, but at the time when I decided not to play I thought it was a good idea and expected the field to be much tougher.
Have been thinking about 2016 and the direction I want to go, would really like to grind the live circuit, playing as much as possible, I really feel very comfortable playing live and the style of poker I play is more appropriate for live poker I think. Especially as I only want to play online 1-2 times a week, that's perfectly possible whilst "playing on the road"
To do this I need to be a lot healthier, I need to eat better when on these tours, sleep a little better, not waste time procrastinating and really approach it as best as possible.
I think the fact that I really enjoy playing live cash and happy to play pretty high means the expenses of traveling for live tournaments is helped. It would obviously be amazing to get some form of poker sponsorship and would continue to do this blog as I travelled the world doing it, but I would never sell out and represent a brand I didn't believe in just for $.
Then again thinking about this, why exactly do I want to do this? One of the reasons I wanted to grind hard online was to "prove the doubters wrong" that I wasn't just "on a heater" and that I was actually a top reg. I think maybe the reason I want to do this is because I'm (rightfully) not seen as a super successful live player. I think I'm pretty self aware but I really feel great playing live and maybe I want to just "show everybody" or "prove the doubters wrong" who assume I'm "only good online". It kind of brings backs everything from those emotional times around EPT Monaco high roller and the WSOP 6max. I wasn't bothered about losing the money in the 25k or the 10k, it was that I really had this big feeling that I was playing great and others may think think otherwise simply because of the result. I wanted to be recognized, I wanted to be thought highly of by my peers and wanted to get what I felt was (undeservedly) labeled on my back as an exclusively "online player". I don't personally want to be trueteller or sauce123 and I don't want to be spoken about in the same breath as them. I do want to be the best tournament player in the world (both live and online) and the thing I really need to start working out is do I want to be for myself or do I want others to think that. I'm not sure if that little rambling makes sense, makes me look like the most self absorbed player in the planet or whatever else, just trying to be honest about the way that I see things and the rationale behind the choices I make.

Went back to sleep at 9am, woke up at 3pm looked at app and registration was closed for then2k. Was pretty angry.
Didn't shower, didn't go outside, tilt ordered lamb from restaurant downstairs. Internet was pretty sketchy, went down 3 handed in the $215 weekly 6nax. Ended up coming 3rd for 6.5k, so a decent day after all!
Tomorrow got to check out early and can't move rooms for 4 hours.
Two big football matches tomorrow. Newcastle vs Sunderland and then Manchester United vs City. Looking forward to railing those then grinding online afterwards.
Have a massage booked for 1:30 on Monday afternoon, then will register EPT main very fresh and ready to crush hopefully!
