My last update was Saturday afternoon. In the evening, Me, my dad, my mum's cousin and her husband went out for a chinese, and we were joined a bit later by my sister, brother in law and their two kids. It felt strange, but good, It was a good night, and I managed to swerve any conversation of my nephew's Holy Communion, that was taking place the next day.
I disappeared after dinner, still undecided, as to whether to go or not.
I had a conversation or two with my dad about it earlier in the week, and he was doing his best to persuade me to go, I can see why he wanted me to go, but he couldn't see why I didn't want to go, and used the point that I attended my mum's funeral, which was in a catholic church, to make his point. Didn't really cut much ice with me, as missing that was never gonna be an option.
Sunday morning came, and I was still undecided. I don't mind admitting, I'm a bitter man. That may be wrong, but it's just the way I feel. The thought of sitting in a church for an hour and a half, listening to a load of stuff I don't believe in anymore, didn't really fill me with much enthusiasm. I also believe that probably half the people there, don't really believe it either, but go through the motions because they like to be seen to be doing the right thing. Some, and I know this as a fact, go because, it helps them get their kids into a better school, which happens to be Catholic, and that, to me, is just wrong.
Anyway, I reached a compromise with myself, that I would go, but stand at the back, in a glassed off area, where adults take babies etc, so the noise doesn't affect the service. It started at 1pm, so I arrived at 12.50. Unfortunately, or fortunately, I had got the times wrong, and it had actually started at 12.30. I couldn't rally what was been said etc, which was not a bad thing, and 45 minutes later, it was all over.
I went into the church when it was over, and had the obligatory group photo etc, and left. We (26 of us) went for a meal afterwards, which turned out to be quite nice, then I departed for Luton.

Before S-O-S was used as the emergency call sign in Morse code, it was 3 other letters. Do you know what they were?

Then gatso will come along and call bullshit on it.

Can't really remember too much about the comp at Luton last Sunday, other than I kept up my impressive run of getting AA cracked, this was more my fault really, though I did get unlucky too, I found myself up against a flush draw that missed, but backdoored a straight
I shoved 12 bigs with 72dd and accidently flipped it over when everyone folded, and got told by Luton's serial 'I knew you had thatter' that he knew I had 72. WP Sir.
A short while later I shoved the SB with K8 and ran into KQ in the BB, and that was that.
That was that then, my last comp until Vegas, a two week break will do me good etc. Who was I kidding?

Monday & Tuesday was just busy at work, trips round to see my dad for dinner followed by home and bed, only to be unable to sleep, which got more and more frustating as the week went on.
By Wednesday, I didn't really see the point of trying to catch up with sleep, so I went out to Luton, for their £50er.
Met sicilidonk in Potters Bar, and I drove We discussed some light hearted, but maybe semi serious emails we had exchanged during the day, and we decided that he is a lucky boy to be still alive
He is also incredibly stupid too lol, but he has learned now IMO.
My first table was excellent, 4 people knocked out in the first level, average pot at 25-50 was 6kish, and no one was folding a pair, for any amount of money. The average stack in the comp was around 13k, yet the average stack on our table at the break, was nearer 20k.
Once again, I had to fold AA on a J high flop after Mr phan shoved 30k to my 3bet on the flop. He done me a huge favour, because if he flats, the BB, who had flatted a raise and 5 calls pre then reshoves the flop, I isolate, and walk into two pair. I then got one outered for most of my stack, and two hands later, there is a limp, and 2 callers. I shove 12 bigs with 99, which is then min raised to 7k, which then gets min raised to 14k, Mr Phan then gets his 20k in which is called in both spots. I somehow 5x up with a 9 on the turn, and I'm back in it.
Grinded to 600-1200 before losing with AK v 66 and AQ v KK in consecutive hands, to the same guy.
And that's me done til Vegas....

all users used to have there own call signs
the call sign for all users (ie of intrest to everyone) was CQ
they decided to add a D to let people know it was a priority message and some one was in trouble
think it was all to do with some euro languane possibly italian or french
although in english people used to say come dam quick thats not why it was used in first place

Thursday was / is my Mum's birthday. She would have been 60. If i'm honest, the last week has been fairly tough, fk knows what it has been like for my dad, but he has soldiered on. Thankfully it's been a busy week at work, which helped, and I managed to sneak a trip to Nando's at lunchtime, with two comedy girls I used to work next to, one of which is American, the other is a greek girl that has just returned from her first trip to Vegas, and is now going back for 3 weeks in August, to find a job, and look at the possibilty of moving out there. I think she is in for a disappointment.
After work I tool my dad to the cemetry, and left him in peace for a bit, while I wandered around, doing not a lot. We left, and went home for dinner. He seemed OK, so I left him be, and went home. Fell asleep at 9 til 10, then couldn't get back to sleep, ended up trying to follow updates of Trigg at the WSOP on blonde, but my internet was playing up, and so too my phone, so I gave up about 3 and went to sleep.
Woke up at 9, late for work, wp me, got away with it though, as had to go elsewhere, before the office.
Back to my dad's after work, and I took him up to the bank and the shops, had some dinner, then went home.

Well, when I say home, that's true to a certain extent, I did go home, to drop off the food I had bought for next week. I'm gonna cook for myself next week as my dad is away again from Monday for two weeks. He comes back while I'm in Vegas, so I miss the opportunity to pull another Sepp Blatter type stunt. But no worries, there will def be more in the future.
Having dropped the food off, I felt one last pre Vegas trip was in order, I mean, I've been on a terrible run for close on two months now, This could be the night it ends.
Sat quietly for the first couple of levels, I had a fairly good table to start with, only Gamblor21 on my direct left was gonna give me any real problems, other than that, It couldn't have been better. Slowly built my stack up to 15k, then the table broke, got another fairly good table, which got a bit harder, when Claw was knocked out, and replaced with someone who could actually play poker.
Nicked a few pots, made a hero call, that went wrong and was down to 13.5k at 150-300 when this happens....
UTG, who is ridic tight, makes it 800, UTG+1 folds, Nick ' the hooky bookie' Crisp flats, as does the guy in between us. I have those fkin Aces again, so I rise it up to 4025, my image at Luton isn't the best, hasn't been for a long time, which suits me fine, especially in situations like this, and I'm hoping someone realises this, and does something stupid. UTG folds, and the hooky bookie ships his 15k, the guy in between folds and I call. I failed to make triplets, but he didn't. GG me.
So that's it, I'm done til Vegas, No, I really am. I don't want to win before Vegas, I want to win IN Vegas, because it will be that much sweeter.

There is a car outside, with it's engine switched off, but it's lights on full beam, shining into the ground floor bedroom window of a flat across the road. At 2am, assuming there is someone in, I can't see that they are gonna want to put up with that much longer.
Car gone now, sigh, no one came out and complained. Disappointed.

that's close to my answer but not quite
I was going with 3 letters but with d at the end and q one of the first 2
first 2 letters meaning all stations or something like that then d for distress
so Xqd or dXq with X being the one I can't remember
I know this because I saw it on eggheads last week but they got it wrong, got the first 2 letters the wrong way round
