You need a lift from the value? Or will you be getting the driving gloves out?

I was speaking to a man today who's job it is (Amongst other things) to act as ghost-writer
for several of Derby's notables
. It falls to him to pen "Personal" letters of invitation, acceptance, gratitude etc.
He told me that me that it was a regular occurrence for him to be acting on behalf of two people and find that he is sending letters which the recipient then passes on to him. He writes back and receives his own reply, thereby conducting both sides of the same conversation.
Derby has notables?
One or two......

Don't know whether to laugh or not, but I got a call last night from Peter at the kebab shop, asking if I was ok, as I hadn
't been in for 10 days.
Confirmation, tho I prob didn't need it, that I was going in there too much.
so much love for this. When i first moved to London, we just ate pizza most nights as we had nothing to cook with in the flat and the local pizza place was stupidly cheap.
He must have had caller ID (unusual in 1998), and he literally started answering the phone by saying by saying "they will be with you in 10 minutes, bye"

Only in London/Enfield imo. I've had the same order for years, twice a week minimum, and they still don't fecking know it. Get the occasional grunt if I'm lucky. When I go to the shop from the silverback that is, not the next morning.

Bad week on the poker front, The cash games have been put on hold for the moment, not sure for how long, but I don't see them re-commencing this side of christmas. Thankfully it wasn't due to me sending him skint
Though i did have my first losing session for 1.5 buy ins. Still in a nice profit overall though.
Also played the
festival at Luton at the weekend. Was really looking forward to it, and though it would get decent numbers, particulary the main. Got a bit disheartened when I spoke to scotty77 at 1.30 and he told me that 1a was cancelled as only 28 players were regged. Not the end of the world, as I felt the evening flight would be busier, so I assumed 28 for 1a (which turned out to be total reg'd) with maybe 40-50 for the evening.
I got there and reg'd and was number 44, with an hour to go, didn't seem too bad. Didn't really keep an eye on the numbers for the next hour, as I was too busy treating Pizzled, Alex Martin & Scotty77 to a curry in the restaurant, but when I came back, it seems some people had unregged. Sigh. Ended up with 37, which wasn't great, but still £7.4k ftw.
I ended up going out with
on a
board v
MBN etc. The £300 and the £200 didn't run. So, a bit of a disaster all in all. Was really looking forward to those events, and this week grinding cash at the vic.

Picked Alex up for day 2, as promised to give him a lift if he made it through. We went to Nando's in Enfield, and I won the flip. Another free meal! Before that, I had my pic taken outside with the Nando's chicken. Will post it up here as it's incredible imo.
Alex unfortunately bubbled the bubble, which was a shame, as he was cleary better than at least one other player left in.
Went home then went back to pick him up later, and had a quick drink with luckyblind, who I think was bit dissapointed with the turnout. But it's his first disaster from all the comps he has run, so he is still positive for the future.

At least he was being paid I guess, it's some compensation.
