Mulhuzz on the buses thread made me realise I haven't mentioned Celtic for a while.

Big turnaround. 15 point defecit at the beginning of November. Now 2 points ahead. Love it when it's like this. Heading for another helicopter Sunday. Boba Frett will be disappointed this time. Hopefully.

"buses thread", behave.

Loved the Celtic troll though.

Incredible comeback by your boys ("bhoys"?), has a 15 point defecit ever been overturned so fast?

You have finally remembered which is which!! Congrats.

I can't remember a turnaround so quick. 7 weeks it took I think. Though we did have 2 games in hand. Can quite easily change again. Sadly, the last few years, maybe longer, it's been a case of which team is less shite, rather than which team is better.

I get in trouble most nights on 865 with the "bhoys" thing. Lots - loads - of players include "bhoys" in their screen-name, & I can never remember which Team it refers to, Blue or Green, so to speak, & I usually get it wrong. Think I get more complaints about that than my deep insightful poker analysis.

Good to see the Nando's Chronicles (your Diary) back in full blathery flow.

Be careful in that private cash game, man. I learned an expensive lesson in one of those many moons ago, despite being warned to be careful by a very old bloke who is usually right. And was.

Thank you, it's run by people I know, and dealt by dealers I know, I also know a lot of the players. It's 100% OK. Wouldn't ever go somewhere where I didn't really know anyone. I'm not Greeky you know.. Wink

So was the game I played.

This.... biggest set up grim ever on me was setup by my best mate from 11 years old.... we live in a world where we start with trust no one and go from there... i have mentioned to you i feel something is wrong with the game..... because you know them and dealers doesn't mean its not a stitch from the start... the most elaborate ones always look the most kosher on the face of it..cos there meant to..and yes u will be allowed to win sometimes

Still no progress with my dad. I went over there last week to pick something up, I can't even bring myself to speak to him, as it will just end up in a row probably, then he will decide he is right, and I will do the same. It's madness. I can't back down though.

My sister feels the same, and has tried to speak to him, but with no joy. She has suggested we go together to speak to him. Doubt that will achieve anything, but may give it a go. We'll see.

There's none so blind as those who won't listen.

Vin, let me first say that I know it's none of my business, but since you've already put this issue into the public domain, I wonder if you could explain it a little better for me.

As I understand it, your father has decided to do just as he pleases, and you don't think he should.

I'm sure that can't be right, but that's how it reads to me.

Please feel free to ignore this, or to tell me to GTFO.

The atmosphere was electric tikay, the room was buzzing and you don't usually experience this sort of think in England. It's pretty similar to the buzz you get in Irish comps and one of the reasons I enjoy playing there so much.

Very well played Vin. Hope you get up here more often now

Ireland has been my nut favourite place to play poker.

Beats England and even Vegas by miles. Everyone having fun, playing the game in the spirit it should be played. Love the Irish.

In live poker, 2 or 3 people usually irritate me hugely but in 3 trips to Ireland I haven't had one person annoy me or a bad table.

Actually, for how Tikay knocks alcohol the Irish (when I've been) seem to be a great example of how to consume alcohol. Drink it by the bucket but don't turn into pricks.

I don't knock alcohol as such, as those who cannot hold their ale, & get aggro after a few mild ales, & start prodding me, & spraying me with their filthy saliva as they attempt to slur. I'd be surprised if anyone enjoyed that, to be honest. "Funny drunks" I love.

Ireland? Agree. It's one of the nut fun places to play poker, & I've never had a spot of bother with unruly drunkards in Ireland. I've played in Dublin at The Merrion (now long closed), Fitzwilliam, Sporting Emporium (vey nice), Jackpot Club, & away from Dublin, at Galway, Cork, + 2 pretty iffy spielers in Belfast. Poker in Ireland is generally played with a smile - as it should be.

I'll never forget a cashgame that I played in Waterford with Compo sat in the same game too.

At one point, after following Tony's lead three players in one pot were playing "Indian poker" with one card stuck to their foreheads.

True! And we were playing for decent money, too. These youngsters don't know what degen means, eh?

Tikay referring to the game at Gala Notts?

Also Vin, if you can, please share more about your dad.

He's old now, don't bear a grudge against him. Sort it out as soon as you can. God forbid but imagine if your dad passed away and you're relationship was like this before he did.

Could not possibly say....& an associated game, outside, too. Live & learn, but if I had listened to good advice earlier, I would have saved a few bob.

As to Dad, absolutely, I expect many of us have had a fallout or two with our parents, but it's our responsibility to be the bigger man, & sort it out. We may - will - regret it later, if not. I hate to see folks falling out with parents, but I understand how & why it happens.

I got all excited when I seen my wonderful diary had more views then the great Vicenzo, then I checked the start dates...

Hope you are back to winning ways, glglgl.

I doubt I will ever catch up with you Raymondo, It doesn't surprise you have x amount more views than me. We will never catch up with the great diaries though, you know, the ones that talk about cement, buses and chicks with dicks...

Mathematics suggest you will overtake me as long as you keep it going, git. Yeah, I sometimes consider trying to compete with "the great diaries" by having streams of pages with random pictures on or talking about my bowel movements or similar but then it wouldn't have my stamp on it so decided to pass on that.

Last thursday I went back to the private cash game, still confident that I can turn the defecit around. I think I got off to a decent start, then slowly gave it back. Decided enough was enough when, in for £600, I called a raise multi way with JQ, Everyone checked the K 9 3 flop, saw the lovely 10 on the turn, I check called £35 leaving £115 back, and jammed the K river heads up. The guy asked how much, then called, announcing two pair, before flipping KK for a 'comedy' slow roll.

Time to call it a night I think.

Clearly everyone's been watching the re-runs on Gold, clowns.

Hey bud, as you know from our many chats over a dinner that you have swerved paying for one of the things I was truly happy about was that I managed to rebuild the relationship with my Dad before he passed away and have said many times that I am not sure how I would have handled the guilt if I had not managed to do that.

Its always quite amazing the depth of the 'duty' gene I think. Nearly all kids feel guilty enough about a falling out that they want to put it right. I sort of think the opposite, that it's incumbent on the parent.

Obv no real black and white about these things and hope things get patched up, just cause most of us can't truly write these things out of our heads and life's easier in peacetime.
