So the pictures above sort of tell the story of the stag do. Awesome time on the Lake messing about with speed boats, drinking, relaxing and getting burnt to a crisp. So much fun, can't believe it's my 5th or 6th time in Vegas and I've never been. Beer pong and Rodeo in a bar before Chris Brown (and surprise guest Justin Beiber) in Drais to finish off a great day.

Now what pictures and videos can't tell the story of is EDC. Words certainly can't.

Leaving hyperbolae to one side, I'll try and describe what about the EDC experience that was unique to me.

In every situation you find yourself in life, you are to some degree self conscious. Even amongst the closest people to you, to some small degree you're conscious about what you're saying, how you're saying it etc. In EDC there's 400,000 over the 3 days that travel to the middle of nowhere in the desert, and none of them give a f**k. Everyone is completely at peace with each other, without judgement and without total freedom to express themselves however they want. That was a truly unique feeling.

Outfits from this (and even less)

To this

Nobody judges.

This is the main stage, just as the sun is rising. The owl was so freaky lol, his eyes darting about all the time lol. We slowly made our way through the huge crowds, Griffin Benger being our leader, (absolute nutter lol), and by the last song we could basically touch the rail right at the front.

Last year I came out early to go to EDC, booked a hotel near especially, but got so ill on the flight and was bed ridden for the first 3 days of the trip I had to miss out - was absolutely gutted. Was touch and go whether I was gonna make it this year too, but I'm so so glad I did. One of the best experiences of my life, and certainly one I'll repeat.

Here's two 15 second clips I took yesterday, followed by the official trailer, to give you more of an idea what I'm raving on about...

However, true to my roots, the first thing I did when I got in? Cleaned my shoes - they'd gotten terribly filthy during the night.

Back to reality with a bang today with a $1500 level 4 exit, and did chunks afterwards. After a being $10k up after day 2, we're over $10k down now. Cue a standard moan it in bink in the $2500 tomorrow? Yes please.

I remember arriving at the Palazzo in 2011, and seeing people wandering around like that in the lobby as I checked in. I had no idea what was going on, but am definitely glad they didn't have it during my first two trips, as I'd have probably been dead!

Great reports/pics, and hopefully the $2.5k is kinder than the last few comps.

Was great to see you out in Vegas Alex.

Insanely jealous about EDC. The Boy and I have thought about going the past two years, but never made it.

Next year...

Hey, yeh you two, loving life on the rail!

EDC is kinda scary prospect when you've never been before, I nearly wussed out this year but trust me, it's SO worth it and all your worries instantly go once you're there.

A mini update from me.

Outside of poker, had some great times this trip, Deadman rail and stag do, EDC, and last couple of days some really great meals. Last night was the annual Julian Serrano trip which was incred as ever.

Poker has been going just about as bad as possible tbh, I've had 8 losing days in a row of at least $2k, often 3 or 4k. But that's OK, not getting down about it or anything.

Yesterday was a day off but played a couple of hours in the evening and did no good but had a swap come in, which (no thanks to me!) made it officially a winning day (just!) in my books!

So hopefully that's put an end to that and I'll go on to heater the 2nd half of the trip.

Made a decision to skip the $3k 6max today, even though anything 3k or under has been such good value this trip (despite my only cash coming in a really tough 5k - stupid game ha), I just feel I'm better off skipping this one and concentrating on the $2500 HPO tomorrow.

Another Deadman rail perhaps later today?!

Post your tantrum story!

Carol, please! That doesn't even qualify as a mini tantrum, not remotely an incident worth mentioning! You get people excited with posts like that, then I tell the story and everyone is disappointed...

Worke and Judy tho!

Post your tantrum story!

Do you have one of these on every trip? I still haven't got over Marbella'14 when you swore at a waitress who didn't bring you butter...

3 ~breakeven days have followed the 8 day losing streak, and whilst being a change in the right direction it's not exactly what we've flown all this way for is it?

Today counts as break even but in real terms I'm $5k in the hole. Fired twice at the HPO but made day two with 43k, 20k starting stack, so you could even argue it was a winning day! Keith and Deadman did 3 bullets each, Stato and Mitch one each, and we've only got mine and Keith's paltry stacks to show for it.

Winnable comp tho so I hear...

Was pretty cool in the room they had a huge banner with Deadman's picture on from last year. Funny how when I first started dealing at DTD, Deadman was a hero of mine and I wanted to be his mate, then we were just mates for years and I didn't even think about it, and now I'm proud to be his mate again ha.

Got that Rio bug too, it's horrible. It's actually ridiculous how that building can be made to be so cold. Everyone complains about it every year, why is nothing done about it? To sell hoodies, really? It really puts me off.

Hope I do well tomorrow, morale needs a win. Just because this spell is ultra standard variance, and I'm not complaining about it doesn't mean I'm enjoying it. Vegas ain't a fun place to be knocking it in.

30th in the HPO for back to back cashes in that event. And my second 30th place finish of the series! Doh.

Was super lucky today, especially in one spot (two pair beats straight allin on turn 15 off the money) and then again to win a flip to survive 5 off the money. Had some bad luck once the flag was secure but felt like a freeroll anyway.

It's minor repair work on the summer but I'm grateful nonetheless.

Was a really really fun day. Had such a fun table. Having said that, I had the worst seat in the entire room probably. Directly oop to Cal Anderson. Hand-cuffed, coffined, under it - whatever you want to call it - I was just that. He raises literally any two cards from any position (K4o utg for eg) and won't back down if you play back. You just have to strap in, and grow a pair, flop one and hold on for dear life! Really tough and challenging to play against.

There was such a great atmosphere at our table because of this old guy, Rudy who'd qualified for nothing, and was saying how he was having the time of his life, never played anything like this before and what a thrill it was for him. Everyone was laughing and joking with him, playing Lodden thinks and using him as the brain. He had some classic lines that had everyone in stitches. There were other young Americans pros there all getting involved in the spirit of the game, going against the stereotype. In fact the whole field and feel of that tournament and casino is different to the Rio- there's no bad blood or moodiness anywhere. The game is played and enjoyed how it was meant to be.

This is a snap of Rudy showing Cal that he did indeed have the goods after Cal folds to his large re-raise.

Our table broke and the second I busted I saw he was in a big pot on another table so went over to sweat it. Don't remember ever doing that before to someone I barely knew just after busting itm of a big comp. He's CL overnight, would be amazing if he won.

Steve Warbs is 5th in chips going back as well, so maybe big result for the little man is on the cards?

Not sure about plans tomorrow, 1 drop, or 1 k?
