Bagged up 52850. Was a really steady day. Slow chip down to 25 at trough, then at the end of level 2 played the biggest pot of the day (had the nuts, ldo) to take me to 44. Slow grind up to 50, then onto 67 at peak, then slowly back down to 53.

My table was an absolute dream. Maybe the softest table I've had all summer. So friendly as well, had really nice chats with Jennifer Harman about her two twin 8 year-olds - she's lovely but sadly been so ill for so long. She was part of the golden age of High Stakes Poker, the show that really got me into poker, so that was nice. There was a Dentist from New Hampshire who just loved the game and was a pleasure to play with and chat to. A young business guy from London who was a decent player. Everyone was playing in the right spirit and it was just a really relaxing, stress-free day to be honest.

It was a table I could've had 150k on though. I spent all day trying to catch one guy but never got him.

One guy was blinded off for the first 5 hours of play, then turned up, and is dealt in just as he's sitting down. Jen Harman opens utg to 800 at 150/300, and he is utg1. He is just counting his chips, working out what's going on etc. Looks down and says "Let's gamble" and makes it 2100. Folds to the dentist in middle position who says "Wow, first hand huh?" whilst making it 8k! Folds back round to our new table mate.

He's looking around, bemused - he can't quite believe what's happening. "Is this really the first hand?". He hasn't even taken his coat off, so to speak. It looks like he's got Kings and can't believe that he might be going broke in hand 1.

"No-one would fold this". He says, whilst flinging his ~28k in.

The dentist snaps with Aces.

for our man. Sadly, does not win.

It's only the beginning of the marathon, but I've researched my day two table and that looks pretty favourable too. I'm actually the equal biggest stack on it, so there's not many chips on there, but I've hendon mobbed everyone and it looks v decent.

Hopefully a stress-free day of grinding and chipping up is ahead tomorrow.

<3 Jennifer Harman

Remember reading about her having ops some years back. Isn't it kidney problems she has?

I actually just acquired all 7 seasons of High Stakes Poker last week, but haven't had a chance to watch any of them yet.

Congrats on day 2, and best of luck for rest of the comp.

She had a kidney transplant a few years ago (must have been over 8 years ago as she had twins after transplant iirc).

Dani Stern is Ansky, plays all the Super High Rollers (no idea how he plays ldo)
Lee Childs (if it's the same one) final tabled the Main Event the year Jerry Yang won it and is best remembered for making a incorrect laydown with pocket queens in a big pot against Yang.

was a lock pro too.  Had a feeling he was a full tilt pro for a while, but think I must be wrong.
