Morale pretty high after such a fun day at DTD today.

So was 2/50 in this £500 £1m GTE. Had a steady but good start, then had a couple of big setbacks, got back in it, then the key hand which ruined me with 10 left, JJ<KQo for 7m (2x avg) pot.

I was left with 2 antes. Someone busted as our next hand was being dealt, so secured a £1500 ladder to 9th, then turned that 1 ante into 1 big blind and 1 ante, with the mighty J2o (#redemption)

Then on the final, found A7cc 456cc, club on the turn for a treble up to 4bbs. Then found QQ! Got it in vs AJ to have 10bbs which actually would've been 6th or 7th/9 in chips! But lost! Great fun anyway.

Went for dinner with Victoria to chill, then hopped in the main event, chipped up slowly, won one big pot KK>AK and then chipped up some more and bagged up 162k from 30k ss which is a very nice stack indeed.

So many heroes about as usual, had a few drinks, then 7 of us went for a curry in town which was incred and full of laughs. Loving this WPT week, as always.

WPT Day 2

Bit of a horror show. Was top 10 in chips, but lost AK<QQ twice to go down to 100k, then lost an insane hand where a guy in the bb thought he was utg, said raise, it stood if action doesn't change. One limper, I find Aces in the sb and limp, his raise stands, then I 3b, he 4bets I call. Have about pot back, and stack off on a QQ6 board vs QJo. Was a bit of a shock...

Did a stupid bluff to bust the 8max a few hours after and then spent the rest of the night at the fireworks party getting extremely merry with DTD staff and players. Was the drunkest I've been in a while. Everyone was though. Highlights:

-Drinking races with Martin Frey and 2 valets, with penalty Gin shots for the slowest. Martin crushed everytime obv.
-Skalie's crazy horses game, with 30 people crowded round a table with 20 pound notes in hand trying to get a bet on.
-Seeing Trumpers moves on the dancefloor is always a treat

Very fun night and I crawled in a 5am, only to be up at 11 to make it back for rebuying in the 8max at 12! #grindersgonnagrind

Got to DTD at 12 yesterday and found out the comp didn't start till 1. There were a few people who thought the same thing, so we got a little cash game going to kill the time...

4 handed 5/10 with straddles going round through the blinds so it was 20/40/80 really Cheesy

I ended up staying in this game for 14 hours.

It was going absolutely terribly. I was in for £16k and at one point down £12k, which would've been by far my biggest ever losing day.

My hangover kicked in about halfway through this session too, so it's safe to say I was in a bad way.

I can honestly say that I played well though, B game let's say (!) and felt at peace with it, even at the worst points. A day like this has been long overdue to be honest.

But it's gonna have to wait, because I hit some form and won most of it back, finishing down around £3k. Best £3k I ever lost!

Doing it all again today, buying in day2 of the £1.1k 6max at 12...

Loving the action, but can't wait for a holiday next week...

Massive GL to chubby funsters Mitch and Stato, still in the main with 18 left. £200k ftw! #due

I assume Alex flats for:

Deception
So the guy doesn't fold all his bluffs (which includes qjo)
Alex gets an extra bet on the flop when the guy continues with all of his range including bluffs.
With a psb back doesn't really have to worry about trying to get the money in

Feel completely exhausted by this week. 15 hour sessions back to back for a week has knocked me for 6. Loved every minute (more or less lol) but it's going to be good to have a holiday this week.

Yesterday I played a £2 ante only win the button cash game, with £10 pp bonus for winning 3 hands in a row, and £25 pp bonus for 5 hands+. That created some sick levels, and nobody really knew what ranges to play, how big to open etc because the button had such huge incentives to win the pots - it was a lot of fun. Later in the night I played a crazy 6card PLO game with £80 straddles. This morning I played a handful of hands of 10bb deep £50/100 heads up! I love weeks like these - such a huge range of non-stop action.

Today I did some commentary for the WPT final and was really impressed by some of the play. I think the best two players got heads up and Iaron is a popular winner. So disappointed for Mitch and Stato, 15th and 18th, just doesn't seem to happen for them :/

Victoria and I are off to Iceland on Tuesday for 4 nights. Some amazing sights there - can't wait.

For those of us who somehow get through life without Facebook, what are we congratulating Alex & Victoria on?

Engagement? Marriage? First child?
