idk if i told this story already but in LA recently I tried to call a $200 pf raise with
which I know is a bad hand but OTB etc however cos the chips are completely budget in the commerce I threw a 1k and a 100 out by mistake, my reaction was obviously a mistake and several of the regs at the table were like "yh its easy to muddle the chips up just take the 1k back and call"
the guy who opened stood firm "NO - THATS A RAISE" and makes it stand, he then pots i call (in spite)
flops
and I stack his aces.
Common sense and justice work together dont worry
How is it justice that you cock up and he loses?

What has he pulled exactly? If I'm playing a comp and someone puts the wrong chips in and I have aces I'd insist it was a raise too?

I agree with you and David's posts, rules are rules, but common sense should always be able to overide in certain spots when possible/applicable.
Is like the £6 raise at 1/2, when I play chucks in 10, it goes as a call, because it always does and it's obvious, even though strictly speaking it's a reraise to 10. Overall though I agree with this
errrrrrrm no it's a call by the letter of most rules including TDA and DTD's
40: Multiple Chip Betting
When facing a bet, unless a raise is first declared, multiple same-denomination chips is a
call if removing one chip leaves less than the call amount. Example of a call: preflop, blinds
are 200-400: A raises to 1200 total (an 800 raise), B puts out two 1000 chips without
declaring raise. This is just a call because removing one 1000 chip leaves less than the
amount needed to call the 1200 bet. Placing mixed denomination chips in the pot is
governed by the 50% standard in Rule 38.

depends i guess. if they $100 chip is blue and the $1k chip pink, then gg, its a raise. If they are similar colours i think it's ok.

Ridic. If you have type of objectivity it just leaves it so open to angle

Incred story about your little bro and quite right to be immensely proud. Hope that everything goes well for him in his exams and that they find something to sort his condition once and for all down the line.

agree that iits open to angle, but just the same as 'I call' and toss in a $100 and a $1k (or, in my case, a $1 and a $5. #lowrollingitt)..I mean, my intention is clear, right, I intended to raise but I said call by accident. Or did I?
You have to have some common sense I think. Just for karma.

Had awesome meal at French restaurant Le Mistral tonight, ate the lamb tagine was delicious, one of my favourite meals in Nottingham I can remember. Great catch up with my dad and bobby, messed about on the piano with bobby for an hour or so which was really fun then they went ot sleep I went to DTD for the last few hours.
The game was amazing. Terry and Stretch were pissed up and it was absolutely mad. I sat with 500, but it was soon clear that it would be a good idea to sit at least 1k deep so I decided to reload but before I did I got stacked by Terry, who called my £90 3bet with 65o, somebody else called, I had 400 back there was about 300 in the middle, I had
and the flop came
, checked to me, I shoved. Bet/call probably more balanced but literally Terry was calling whatever I did. He snapped me off so fast as did the 3rd player! 3rd player had AKdd and we both bricked and Terry won the £1500 pot with a pair of fives -marv!
I reloaded for 1k but couldn't make a hand. I couldn't find aces in the double straddle and before I've done anything, there's been a limp for 8 and Terrys shoved 2grand in. No, cos I'm not Mitch Johnson. That's right, no exaggerations, limp for 8, Terry moves allin for 2k effective and Mitch finds aces in the double straddle. Terry has AK. Unreal.
The game got shorthanded towards to end, which allowed me to come into my own and control the table. Grinded back to even, then lost 200 allin pre with KK vs JJ sigh, then the fish had gone home it was just regs and Ming, we made it 4 card irish for the last 20 minutes. My new and improved dc skills were put to good use and I cleaned up good. Lost £3 for the night. Losing these big all ins is getting pretty tiresome, I'm sure it'll turn around soon...

Alex, when you generate action by always putting the straddle on, every orbit, every night of the week, sometimes dem poker Gods reward you with these situations.
When you 'keep forgetting' or pulling the £4 back when someone else goes £8, the rules of straddling condem you to a life of 93o miserey.
Good night x
