Skolsupers looking on too. Is this cash blip on the make up / sponsorship or on your own roll mate. Wife tells me 4 weeks to Christmas so that means only 3 til the Monte Carlo.

You were a bit unlucky last night Al. Don't want to sound like a broken record and i know you've heard it before but thats variance for you. I still don't think you really have a true appreciation of the types of swings you should expect at these stakes - tbh in those games of 1/2/4/8 and 2/5/10 type games
i'd be very surprised if a good winning player didnt have a 5 figure plus downswing at some point during the year.
and what about alex?
Nice tap in Constantine

Finally managed to book a win today. Only 400 or so but anything was welcome. Ran better today, a couple of sucky spots- was in a hole for the majority of the 10 hour session, which wasn't much fun, especially the point where I hero called an allin bet with ace high and the guy shrugged and gave me the "good call look", didn't turn his hand over, then revealed a fully replete fixed abode. Really enjoyed that little slowroll. Also really enjoyed flopping a set of tens in a 3bet pot, only to have my opponent turn a straight with a wired pair of jacks, and then having me value town myself on the river to the tune of 205 pounds. Had to have some fresh air after that.
These were the low points in a day that was generally pretty fun. Shared a table with Andy all day, Tom most of the day, Simon a bit and Stevie a bit, giveyourcash a bit and I think big mike was there most of the time although he could've been on another table no-one really notices. Speaking of whom, I caught him bluffing in two consecutive hands! Very small pots, neither more than £50 but it felt incredible! Had a smile on my face most of the day and that was more important to me than money cos I was seriously down last night.
Gonna take a few days off soon, looking forward to it. So excited for Prague in like 9 days!!!

Had an enjoyable session at DTD today. It started late because I spent the evening with Hannah, who cooked me a lovely dinner. I arrived at DTD at 1030 and as this TR is coming to you at midnight, you can probably guess that the session was brief and painful. 500 lost to Mitch with A4 against AJ on AJ4. Then 400 to Ajit with AK vs his 44 all in pre. I know what you're thinking, pocket fours isn't usually a hand to get in 200 big blinds with preflop, but he was correct in his read that I did not have a pair and that his 44 was in front and made the good call. The King in the window caused him to fling his hands in the air and bemoan his misfortune. The second king even more so. Then the four comes and his face now fills with colour and laughter as his turns over his full house. I managed to laugh it off and make my exit quietly, but inside I wanted to pull my hair out and hurt someone.

Pretty harsh for you atm mate.
Feel like I should post something morale boosting, but tbh your demeanour seems ok, and would obv. come across as a patronising old git.
Will probably just keep taking the p*** out of you instead.

This sounds brutal.
From reading your diary though Alex you seem to play a lot of big pots with non nut holdings.
Does the game maybe just play too big and should you not consider either playing more online or maybe try and play different games other than DtD so the swings aren't as bad.
Good luck with everything.

But then the upswings wouldn't be so fun would they?!
