tikay said they'd have me on if I learned how to speak properly, far too much effort.

I believe I was on fairly safe ground there.

Interestingly, our Head of Poker, to whom I have introduced you twice now, speaks very highly of you, thinks you are a lovely lad. I kid you not.

Cliffs of last few days:

Poker:
Winning - up $2k online, £1k live on monday/tuesday
Losing - lost $1k online and £700 live today. Bumpy but overall good few days.

Football - played the first match of our newly formed 'league'. Kicked off the campaign with a 7-4 victory. Bagged two goals, and put in some good tackles at the back, pleased with my performance, but need to work on positional awareness and fitness. So much fitter than I was a month ago though. The team might get sponsored by DTD and get kits and everything...in the pipeline - exciting.

EPT - booked flights and hotel for EPT Campione for end of march. Have high ambitions at the moment, really want to play these big events, play with and beat the best and try and win the world. Will be selling action for the main, got a few things to discuss with K&K first, but will put a staking thread on blonde over the next few days. This is what I'm looking forward to most over the next 6 months.

House - the burglary has really affected me - I'm paranoid all the time and I think I wanna move out. We're also in like the nut worst place to get robbed again, right next to a main road, in a student area. Really don't like not feeling safe. And I wanna buy a car and I'm not going to atm cos I don't wanna leave it parked in our street. Looking at houses in West Bridgeford where my hero and father figure Keith Johnson lives.

Piano - learnt 90% of the second movement of rach 2 now, loving it.

Only you could use that at a throwaway footnote, but I'm intrigued, & want to ask a few questions, if you can spare the time to answer. Don't worry if not, but I'm fascinated by it.

How long did that take you to learn? I am assuming it is this piece.....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piano_Concerto_No._2_(Rachmaninoff)

Is it a (relatively) difficult piece to learn?

I assume you are graded under the ABRSM system - what grade are you? If you have not been formally graded, what grade do you think you are?

Did you have formal piano lessons, or attend the RSM?

What sort of piano do you have, a Grand, or an upright? What make? Is it worth a lot of money?

Does playing the piano "de-stress" you after a bad poker session?

Does playing the piano at home disturb or trouble the other occupants of the house?

Do you have any videos of you playing piano?

You are such an "individual", such an interesting "package", with a very eclectic range of tastes & skills.

I cannot bring to mind a single poker player who plays crocquet, sings carols, & plays piano - I'm sure there are a few, but they would not dare to admit it.

PS - If any of your EPT action is available on "open sale", (rather than all being taken by your regular & thus preferential backers), I would like to buy a piece, please.

On a completely unrelated note, & a much more base level, I was with a chap last night who was plying me with questions about a guy he had met & played with at DTD, "I think his name was Mitch, you would know him, plump chap".

The gist of the story that he thought Mitch was an awesome Hold Em player. This was from a gentleman who has played professionally, pretty much, since before you were born.

Is it a (relatively) difficult piece to learn? It's in three movements, sections of it are some of the hardest music ever written for piano (a lot of the third movement for instance which I have avoided), but the second is mostly manageable and I learnt most of the first when I was 17. It's the most inspirational piece of music I've ever come across, so well worth the hard work, even if only me and the neighbours ever get to here it!

I assume you are graded under the ABRSM system - what grade are you? If you have not been formally graded, what grade do you think you are?I did grade 8 when I was at school, I think 17

Did you have formal piano lessons, or attend the RSM? My family is really musical, I didn't have formal lessons until I was 16, but was probably sat on the piano stool when I was 2! I just taught myself really until I reached a plateau where I needed formal teaching to progress

What sort of piano do you have, a Grand, or an upright? What make? Is it worth a lot of money? I have a what's called a "digital piano" in my bedroom. The keys have got the same weight and feel as a normal one and the sound is pretty similar. It's not the same as a keyboard, it's a really great piece of kit. Nothing like the grand in my Dad's house though! I remember mine cost about 800 when we got it 6 or 7 years ago

Does playing the piano "de-stress" you after a bad poker session? oh yes! it's a great antidote

Does playing the piano at home disturb or trouble the other occupants of the house? as long as their not sleeping they don't seem to mind. Tom once got annoyed at me cos he was feeling low in his room and I was playing a "sad sounding" piece that made things worse!

Do you have any videos of you playing piano? Probably have some family ones back home but no, not really.

You are such an "individual", such an interesting "package", with a very eclectic range of tastes & skills. Thank you Smiley Proud to be a weirdo!

PS - If any of your EPT action is available on "open sale", (rather than all being taken by your regular & thus preferential backers), I would like to buy a piece, please. Very kind - I'll put you first on the list after K&K

What a horrible story to share with the world, especially on this blog.

I'm sure the gentleman is mistaken. Mitch is much slimmer these days.

Mitch is an awesome holdem player. Last night he managed to find aces on the button when I had jacks in the cutoff playing 1k each @ 2/5/10 blinds. Very skilled indeed.

Please spare a thought for the 9% of male Caucasians that are colour blind and really struggle to distinguish that bluish coloured writing on that greyish background. Thanks.

Nah I seem to vaguely remember you weren't that far from me, maybe I'm mistaken. I'm in Mapperley Park, west bridgeford is decent though I lived there for 5 years.
