1. Nick Hicks isolated a limper to £7, you called. I 3bet J9 to £30. This is what happened. Oh, and you had Q9, not QT.
2. I did this, not expecting you to fold. On the contary, I expected Nick to fold, and you to call. This way I am heads up with you, in position, with the initiative and a playable hand = NUT situation imo.
3. The rest of the analysis is so comical that it nicely proves why I think 3betting to isolating you is a good play.

there is criticism thrown about in the last few posts but i think points 2) and 3) are stepping over the line once again......
it goes to being professional.
if u think u have an edge on a specific guy then wild west it and offer hu4rolls. Insulting what u obviously think is a mark in public and then informing them on hwhere they may be leaking is pretty short sighted (and detrmental FOR EVERYONE)
Shauns hand analysis was stupid tho.

Yesterday cardroom supervisor in gib commented on Alex...
"He's a really good player and conducts himself really, really well on the table"
was he being sarcastic?!

In fairness to Alex having gotten to know him away from the tables he is a really nice guy with very sound character imo, however by his own admission his conduct at the tables occasionally leaves a little to be desired. I can also recognise this, and on occasions have told him so myself. However I can vouch for the fact that this is "occasionally", and that in recent times I have already noticed efforts he has been making to improve this.
I really wouldn't worry too much about it though mate. You explained urself pretty well here imo... you're a bad loser, so what?! - It's probably a good thing in someways, improves determination etc.. Quite a lot of people have quite a few worse character flaws in the poker world particularly.

Sighhh. Was up £350 within an hour or so tonight, wish I'd booked the win! Went on an 900 swing and lost 550 for the night. Chillin in the bar now, gonna call it a night now I reckon. Played the best I've played all week as well, was up 1k for the week until tonight lol. Lost two big pots, TT vs K4hh allin on Q52hh in 3bet pot,
carla goddard
cold calling the 3bet there with K4 and getting there. Then J9 vs Q9 on JT7K8 in 3bet pot vs Sean King. Cheers for the slowroll buddy.
And before that people just had sets every hand vs me! Once I had 2nd set vs top set, once KK vs 77 on 7high flop, once AK vs 55 on A5xx. Made one spewy bluff for £75 and walked into a set again. Other than that minispew, really happy with how I played. SIGH @ results though. Nvr mind, feel fine about it.
Looking forward to playing the £100 comp tomorrow, DTD is bustling these days, 175runners for the £15 comp tonight! Still not a bag up top though!
she loves to moan about bad beats
You know me too well - or maybe you used to! Anyway there was a reason I called with the K4 and it was a one off. If I have time later and can be bothered, I will post the full story

Yes it was Q9 and not Q 10,I was tired when I wrote it.......................... TT on the flop you were flipping, I stated that in the first post. You gambled, you lost, you wanna flip all night long then pls do, I hope you run good and make a profit.
As I also said one card slipped as I flipped them over, pay attention to situations, I didn't slow roll, you just wanted to find a bitch to justify a rant because you lost and got your chips in bad.
And lets also remember I used to play cash with you at Alea, you were the same their. Finally, Mitch may well be able to thank me for his mortgage payments and living costs over the past 2 years or so but on cash you have rarely taken any of my chips in fact as bad as I am you often have spewed at Alea and DTD into me. In fact I always joke to you about " stop bluffing the old guy because I'm calling!" So please keep walking over to my table looking for a seat because the value is so good.
I'll happily pass your chips over to Mitch when he next sits with me.

I will flip all day long if I'm getting 1.8:1 yes, and I do expect to show a profit in doing so. (Was 216 more i had to put in to win 260+44+81 = 385. I would also expect to show a profit in a 55/45 situation as this was, slightly better than a flip.
I take your point about the slowroll, I don't think you meant to do it, as you're not malicious like that, I agree it was an accident. But the cards turned over one at a time and I got the feeling that I'd at least chopped it, then realised I'd been scooped, so it felt like a slowroll, even though you didn't intend to do it. You could've apologised for the accident or explained that you didn't mean the cards to turn over one at a time. Also don't you think what you said to carla "I told you K4 was a good hand" was slightly insensitive given I was right next to you counting out my chips to pass to her? Most people would wait a while after a big pot like that before making jokes.
I'm not sure what you're getting at with the "getting chips in bad" comment, I asusme out of the 2 hands, you mean the J9 Q9 hand. Are you suggesting that I shouldn't valuebet a straight on the river when you've checked, just because there is a flush out there? Sure, there were better possible straights out there, and the flush of course. But what about, sets and two pairs? Not betting a straight there would be a huge mistake I'm sure.

Shaun, I don't know you and maybe you are a nice guy and all. But it is not good form to come into someone else's diary thread and attack them in such a confrontational way. It is not so much what you are saying, it is more the way you are saying it.
That said, the general gist of what you are saying - that Alex needs to work on his attitude and learn to behave with more class - is probably right, as Alex has admitted. However, I can't stop myself from mentioning how ridiculously terrible your analysis of hands is. You clearly don't understand poker very well. There, I am being bitchy now!
Alex, your analysis of the hand with Carla is not good either. It's not that you're wrong per se, it's that you're thinking of things in the wrong way. The way you wrote it was as if you were able to narrow down her hand to almost exclusively flush draws. That's silly and unrealistic and not how you should be approaching poker decisions. For example you totally ruled out the possibility of Carla having a small set on the flop, saying she wouldn't have cold-called with these small pairs. But that is silly because you don't know this (she called with K4s lol!!). You can DISCOUNT the likelihood of her having flopped bottom set (because cold calling 3bets with small pairs is usually not a winning strategy), but don't rule it out. Same with you saying she'd not raise AQ on the flop. You can never be sure of this. So discount it a little based on your read, but don't exclude it. When you're counting combos in your opponent's range you can discount certain hands based on reads, but shouldn't completely exclude them. Not saying you played the hand bad at all (your line looks fine to me), just trying to be helpful by commenting on your overall thought process.
I have never played with Carla before but have seen her moaning a lot at DTD over the last few years. And she had a real go at one of my friends a while back when he stacked her. Not very classy. And not very nice either. But maybe she is a lovely person too, and she implies itt that she doesn't moan as much any more.
As regards the moaning thing, the only time I have played on the same table you had a pretty crap night but behaved with dignity and class. And then reading through this thread I got the impression you are a really good guy who is approaching things with the right attitude. It seems that I hadn't seen the whole picture! You do need to work really hard on acting with class at the table. And you have yet to run really bad (you think you have, but you really haven't). So if you can't act with class after a month in which things haven't gone quite your way, how are you going to cope when you have 15 straight losing sessions or whatever? It WILL happen at some point.

Shaun you have no idea how badly you've come across in this thread, calling him out for acting like a child, whilst every other sentence of yours has some snide comment or little dig? All you needed to do was explain that the slowroll was an accident, I know when I read Alex's initial post i assumed it was anyway

Honey badger, I like your posts a lot, thanks. I don't want to dwell too much on the hand, because I don't want to distract away from the more important issues, but just wanted to say that Carla would definitely not call pre with 22 or 55, the k4 is a complete anomaly as it had some backstory with Shaun. As she said, a one off. And yes she might have AQ but I thought it was really unlikely she'd a) have it preflop and b) she's unlikely to c/r with AQ.
