you have really got me thinking this morning.

if you dont want to play poker forever, what do you want to do? If you want  a profession my sincerest advice would be jack in the poker now and get into your chosen profession and get up the ranks with your peers. Late starters very rarely make it high up in professional life (I'm obv not saying you cant, but you do the hard work in your twenties).

I would imagine that what you are doing now should lead you to a free thinking way of life. Set up a small business, dont be tied to the 9-5?

what are your long term goals and aims? Have you thought about it?

Not really thought about it. My long term goals and aims for the moment are to do with having a wife n kids someday. I wanna achieve things in the poker world and maybe one day start a business in the poker world or in something else. I'm happy right now and have no plans at all to change. Just gonna see what happens.

Me and stato have plans to be pro DJs this year as well. Brrrrup

i wasnt being funny, the subject genuinely interests me - alot.

I know you are only young (not being condescending - just fact) and you certainly dont need to map out your life (i hadnt at that age and its changed if i had), but i was just interested from your "dont want to be in poker forever" comment.

I guess the only solid advice I would offer is if you do want a profession in the narrow sense of the word dont leave it too long

personally i think all you guys should be harvesting capital whilst you have zero costs, and generating ideas for the future. Secondly I think you should maximise your "free time" which it appears you do to an extent, but def dont put off things that you can be enjoying now (like your music) till the "future"

oh and one final thought, the longer you leave going into 9-5, the more painful it will be if you chose to do it (dont do it!)  Grin

Best advice you could possibly get.

Do as much random adventurous stuff as you possibly can while you have pretty much zero commitments.

Take advantage of that big bag of money you've got and take your bird on a huge adventure around the world.

Me and alex just completed our "car vs running" race to dtd. I'm sure once alex stops throwing up and returns from the toilets hell post a trip report about his loss.

Nb... Not a level

I know...he didn't have any traffic lights or traffic to deal with either. Easy parking space right by the entrance too.

I love the fact than when you discuss any topic on this blog everyone always seems to chime in with advice about what they think you should do in your situation.

So in that spirit, I'd like to advise you that it is a good idea to have gone on several runs before attempting a running prop bet. Your bankroll of running experience is too low, and you run the risk of going bust and chucking up in the toilets at Dusk till Dawn. Have you considered that you may never become Paula Radcliffe, and might not have a future in competitive running and should get a job? In your position, I'd advise getting staked by a bicycle.

etc. etc.

Dunno where to start on tonight...should probably wait until tomorrow to post when Im more level-headed. But maybe it's not a bad idea to just splurge out a load of thoughts and see what happens.

By far the worst day I've ever had pokerwise. The worst thing about winning the MC is that now I'm never allowed to complain about running bad again. Seriously. It's a real pain. Since it's my diary I could just say fk it and complain anyway. But George and Jared and a whole bunch of smart people taught me that it's the biggest waste of time ever. I agree. So ill spare you. Cliffs: ran bad, lost moneys.

There you go.

Now the important things.

1) I was a baby again Sad Seems to happen sporadically once every few months. A series of hands or events leads to me losing my head and acting like an idiot. I was complaining, moaning and generally being a bit of a douche. Its the thing that sparked the first bit of controversy in this thread back in February or March. Glad it hasn't happened since cos I hate feeling how I felt then, and how I do now. Mitch and Andy were at the table as well as Mitch being the most insensitive human being known to man didn't help snap me out of it.

2) I tilted off chunks. It was 50/1 not 1/2 so it couldve been worse, but doing 1k at 50/1 is abs ridiculous. Hand on heart I can put most of it down to running bad. But I played shit even so and spewed off loads.

3) this business with deadman from the other week is looking a lot more serious than i first thought and I'm pretty upset at how it may turn out. Dont ask me to elaborate obv not going to, I'm just saying.

Ran pretty terrible last night as well on the 1/2 but kept morale high, kept my dignity and was in good spirits all night and actually had a pretty fun time despite losing a chunk. But tonight was different and I'm really annoyed that I haven't nipped this unfortunate habit in the bud, especially when I addressed it as a weakness months ago. You'd think that winning 35k would make me immune to anything that can happen at a 50/1 table tilting me. Turns out this is not the case. Not sure whether it's a solvable problem or not. Well, im sure it is solvable but dunno how. Whenever I'm thinking rationally it seems easy. But the zone I was in tonight, I knew I was tilting off yet I didn't wanna stop. I can honestly say this happens very very rarely. I always write on here when stuff like this happens and it hasn't happened for ages. Hope I can change so it never happens again.
