GREAT day yesterday. Deepstack didn't go too well. But really enjoyed the company of Alan "Lucky" McBride, and Pete "Big Chara" Chararararalambos, neither of whom I'd met or played with before, so that was fun Smiley

Lost A9<A3 vs Pete to knock him out, and he's gone on to day two grr! Also lost A9<KQ to exit but meh, that doesn't really paint a fair picture of the day, cos to be honest I deserved to go out sooner. Played a bit too aggro and fancy - not a good idea on day1 of the DTD300.

Anyway, after a cooling off period, onto the 1/2 tables...I sat at a game with Alan Stearn, Ian Gasgoigne, James Tomlin and Sunny Mistri from whatsonpoker.com and a few unknowns. So I was the only reg in the game? Time to don my ambassadors badge and be a good host for my guests.

James ordered a chicken salad that didn't have much chicken on and was rightly disgruntled. "They'll sort that out for you, James, don't worry. This place is great, just ask for some more". Even bigging up the kitchen staff for my customers...

I'm not being funny, but I was on good form last night and it was pretty laughable reading those comments about regs being unwelcoming or arrogant/disrespectful whilst I was playing in that game.

Treading on egg shells a bit here, but the games were really soft good? fun? profitable? Was an alright session poker wise, played A LOT, 14 hours total, including the deepstack, and ended up 430 which was alright. Although I was up about that in the first half hour! Lost it back, got in a hole, grinded out of it. Nothing majorly interesting happened.

Enjoyed railing Eso and Chili on the final table of the 100, Eso getting a 3way even chop for 3.2 beans, nice nice. Mark McCluskey was in the chop as well, the fourth addition to Keys/Keiths stable, now the #2 horse apparently...

He's gonna help out me and Mitch with our 15-30bb play because, to be honest - it's not the best Tongue My jam with 33 on friday was apparently terrible and highlighted my ineptitude at playing that stack size and Mark's an expert on that sort of stuff. Basically, Mitch and I are massive live donks *SHOCKER Cheesy

Woke up too late to play the 150 (2pm start wtf?!) so just grinding cash today. Feeling good Smiley

I thought you'd ended your backing arrangement with Keys? Or are they still putting you in comps?

Mark's a real nice guy eh. Played cash with him in Brighton during UKIPT, he folds after I bomb the river on him, even calls the suit of my connectors. Fluke obv. Or was it...

lol...i would guess that the poker roll of most of the deepstack players is £336 that they could manage to squirrel away from the mrs this month. would guess at not too many having £30k roll. get some more pictures of your pad posted.

Great to meet you & Keith Alex & I like the diary thread. I don't seem to get enough time to read forums other than dry HH stuff and I haven't spent really any time on Blonde but it looks like a great community with decent folks. See you in the Broadway week after next & hit me up on skype so we can talk about those pocket threes Smiley

Just read your Blonde profile page, think you could be a good influence on me!

Why costa rica, I've never been? I'm 20 behind your countries total, although at my age that's not bad I reckon.

Also, how did you convince your wife to let you have a cat. Mbn

Costa Rica is full of wonderful people, diverse terrain (rainforest, mountains, beaches, coffee plantations), great food, its cheap(ish), and they love poker. You just gotta go there A good friend of mine Alex (Assassinato) Fitzgerald (P5s training instructor) lives there and if you are ever going you should look him up..
As for the cat, he's an online railbird and has an opinion on everything - quite often spotting less obvious lines. Wifey didn't need any persuasion. She's a cool dude!

Lost A9<A3 vs Pete to knock him out, and he's gone on to day two grr!

He had A6s> my AQ too for his tournament life. But he'd played really well too- he completely ran over our table.

Treading on egg shells a bit here, but the games were really soft good? fun? profitable? Was an alright session poker wise, played A LOT, 14 hours total, including the deepstack, and ended up 430 which was alright. Although I was up about that in the first half hour! Just say they're soft. Saying "I was on a table with Skippy, and he's an idiot" is probably a bad idea and going to upset people, but saying "my table was soft" (even if I was on it) is fine IMO.

From the department of totally unrequested advice again:
Re: Bankroll requirements for £300- you're probably right that you need at least 50 buyins. But if I were you, I'd be looking at sattying in and keeping 100% of yourself. DTD are basically giving away £300 seats free with a packet of cornflakes. Last week for instance they gave away 45 seats guaranteed in the club. Total number of entries? 136. So that's less than half price, and that's before you allow yourself any skill advantage over the field. There were 37 entries on Wednesday, FFS!

I'd have said that for 10 out of the last 12 deepstacks there has been some comical overlay somewhere- either online or on the live satellites.

Gonna nip that one in the bud, if Alex sats in he can't keep 100% of himself, he'd earn himself the £336 that we'd give him for the buy-in tho.
