Been super busy last few days. Played 2/5 at the vic last night, games were shit, lost a bowl, been running below par recently and not really enjoying playing much. Im in one of those spells that happen a lot in live poker where you can go card dead for days at a time. So it's not much fun, but just grinding through it with a smile...
Heading to the palm beach for this 1k freeze with Mitch, should be good ,
it's really posh in there
and great value. Stato and Keys playing the 1k ept side instead. TR tomorrow.
Notice the complete absence of gasps.
Can ricochet the same advice you gave to me mid-September. Obviously won't be card dead forever, might even win £1k in 30 minutes and get yourself a massage.
I've been looking forward to getting a massage all weekend but I've said to myself I'm not allowed one if I'm not winning a bunch.
Palm Beach not started well, so might be pinning all my hopes on the final session of cash later on...

What did you think of "The Big Game" last night?
Did you play it any differently to any other comp due to the calling station nature of the local Rich business types?

Stato in with 20bigs. We're all off up the M1 after mammoth vic sesssion which ended up being me, stato, the samurai, thigh, mark mccluskey, mitch and keys. Was ridic fun with some sick 5/10/20/50 prop action but seemed a tad silly to have driven all that way to play together. Was a sick fun game though.
Before all that lot turned up the game was 1/3 and fairly nitty. I'd had two awesome spots though JJ vs 4x on J44Jx for 600squid, then QQ vs JcJx on KQ6ccc6x8c where the guy just spaz bet/bet/shoved for about 500 total. So that was pretty sweet.
Lost a decent pot with A5 vs AQ on A5xxQ, where I bet/bet/bet/sighed when he flatted the river and I wasn't good. Then keys et al turned up and we backed into the 2nd and 3rd nut flushes for 400(loss). Ended up 800, think I lost in props a bit but not much. Think Mitch and Stato were up at least 500 from them. Mitch ran pretty bad as usual last night. Last hand of the night we do double props 10/20/40/100 and he rivers his for 40quid a man 6ways. Then he scoops the omaha flip for another 500ish. Unreal.
Thigh was a big winner in the poker, was gifted 600 when some guy cold 5b pocket 33, tom 6bet AK and the guy 7b shipped it and lost the flip. Was pretty funny.
I won 800 overall, think Mitch lost/broke even, stato same. Fun weekend, have quite a few things to say about the vic tbh, but will save that for another post.

i thought it was pretty awful to be honest. There were 19 runners, 10k chips, 30min clock and the structure missed out some standard levels like 75/150 (I assume others, but didn't make it past 100/200
). Terrible value for £1080. Started 30 minutes late as well.
The standard was bad though, about a 50/50 mix between rich businessmen and players who knew what they were doing.
Obviously I adapted to the rich businessmen by never bluffing them, and if I did, it would be trying to get them to fold Q high rather than any sort of pair. Bit like playing live anywhere I guess. Not that I got the chance to play many hands, it was so crapshooty that once I'd lost half my stack I only had 20bigs.
I enjoyed running a big bluff on baltic blonde in the first orbit though

Interesting as the reason i asked was i felt exactly the same the one time i played it in terms of structure etc etc. In fact i felt it was the worst value £1k comp you can ever play!!

Mate pretty unlucky run online. Heard you didn't do much better at Dusk.

Haha yeh moaned it in. Ran insanely hot on the 1/2 last night. Pokers so easy when you make a bunch of hands and people think you're crazy.
My favourite pot was flopping a house with 99 on 92234 in a 4way straddled 3bet pot. Tom High (thigh) had 3bet from the blinds, bet flop 110, turn 265 and checked river, I shoved 480 and he called. So that was like a 2k pot wiii.
Everything just worked out- my bluffs, hero calls, my tarps
2k overall profit - very pleased. Easy game.
