REALLY great 2/5 game at DTD tonight - the guys that were supposed to come down the other night were here, and it was awesome. Didn't pick up many big hands at all and it was definitely a game where you need to have it to win, so couldn't take full advantage of the lineup. BUT, did win a really big pot, vs on two spades vs a fish in a 3bet pot, standard! I 3b pre he peeled, I bet, bet and c/jammed river, about 2.3k pot, easy game.

Why did you check-jam river rather than betting again?

Given the limited info we have, and we know he peels 3 bets with 85ss, im going to say that there are 2 options, 1. give him chance to bluff, 2. whats he called 2 streets with?

Mitch was surprised I checked too, but I just thought he has a) Jx b) 78 c) flush. Jx not calling, might turn into bluff. 78 defo not calling, will bluff. Flush - always jamming. And I had 600 left and the pot was 1000, so just assumed if he was betting he was jamming. As it happens he bet 400 and then I jammed and he was like fuuuuuuuuuuuck lol.

Was in the most unbelievable game tonight. I've never seen someone pile in hundreds of pounds every single hand barely looking at their cards, and it wasn't just Mitch doing it tonight.

The Doncaster lads were back, and the game was insane. The right people got tilted and there was so much action. Frustratingly I went really card dead at the time it was being raised blind to 50/100/150 and this guy was giving away thousands.

I played pretty bad in a few hands, paying off Nick Hicks twice and another dude once, all three bad calls I think. I did make a good call against one of the doncaster guys, K9ss on for £400 on the river, one of the biggest call I've ever made and he could've easily had a Ten but picked up a few timing tells during the session and had a fairly good read on him plus it just seemed pretty feasible/likely that he had a small pair with a club and he did yay.

I won a really fun hand: I opened KQo to £30 on the 10 straddle, Linton calls, Mitch calls, Kurt calls from the sb, Stretch makes it £105, we all call, except Kurt who shoves for about £900. Me, Mitch and Linton audibly express our annoyance at the situation (ffs just burnt another hundred quid sort of thing) But then Stretch folds and I'm like hmmm there's £420 dead money and Kurt can never have me crushed EVER so i can't really fold so I jam, Mitch and Linton fold and I get there vs Kurt's 88. So that was pretty mad, winning a 2.2k pot allin pre with KQo.

Overall won £650, but the game was so good, could've won 5k if I'd picked up some hands. Bit frustrating, and annoyed at myself for not folding those rivers vs Nick. Never mind, another nice winning day and continuing my good run at DTD, 7 winning sessions in a row now Smiley Had 100% of myself in tonights game (sold a bit to Dave the last couple of times but didn't do that tonight) so was pretty sure I'd bokked myself and was gonna do chunks tonight so glad I faded that landmine!

In other news, was bashing through a bit of Rachmaninov's second piano concerto as you do, and came across a passage I'd never learnt before and it's so good, really inspired me yesterday, been working at it really hard learning the notes and it's really nice having a mini project on the go on the piano again.

Also in tonights game, to demonstrate his goldenness on yet another level, Mitch gets in about 1500 with Kurt pre with QQ vs AK. They run it 3 times, Mitch wins 2/3, the dealer didn't know how to do the pots, and we were being spaks about it and the floor came over and said that since Mitch had won 2/3s of the pot he should get 2/3s of Kurts stack!!! No-one realised how wrong that was. Kurt, bless him, even thought he'd lost all of it because he lost 2/3 so that meant mitch won the whole pot. He obliviously handed over 2/3 of his stack, and I only realised it was wrong after the game broke when I got home just now. LOLLIVEPROS!

Games are goooooooooooooooooood just lately!

Obv gonna sort Kurt out what i owe him btw, a lot of confusion, although i might have to take some grimming banter for a bit yet from the boys!!

On a bit of a sigh note, one of the new donators, we shall call him asianwithglasseswhogetstoopissedtoeventalk-fish, attempted to drive home after 2nites 1k drop off, but smashed right into one of the bouncers cars. Police were called immediatley, hes gonna be banned from driving for a while. Hopefully he lives within walking distance or doesnt mind getting a cab for future payments to the Team_Eureka fund.

I'm not sure I've previously known a poker player who jumps so easily from discussing the intracacies of a DTD cash game with the boys to "bashing through a bit of Rachmaninov's second piano concerto as you do".

Well yes, as you do.

And now it is Alex's "next project" to learn to play that new piece properly. Much respect, Mr G.

Oh, & I hope you extend the 7/7 to 8 from 8. The run has to end eventually though, so allzeit bereit.
