Played a LOT of poker yesterday. First day in a month I can say that. Not put in many hours at all recently.

GUKPT main was a sigh - great start, great table, feeling great - had 38k at 100/200/25 which is a lot to do in 2 hands, but I seemed to manage it. 2nd one was definitely standard, but the 1st one I should fold. Young guy (who seems switched on) opens 525 mp, Lady 3bets the button to 1500. I find QQ in the small blind. Not loving it, but this lady is a bit odd, could have 88+ and AJ/AQ here I think. I smooth call and the original raiser makes it 5100 playing 17000. The lady folds (88 apparently) and I have a decision now. He's pretty nutted here, but my range is pretty faceup and capped, and the lady could be made to fold up to QQ and AK, I levelled myself into thinking he doesn't have to have AA/KK there, so I stuck it in and lost to AA.

Played the 150 at DTD, grinded it out until the last level of the day where I did my average stack with AA vs 66 on T226 - sigh, then lost a flip for the rest. Was 3am, I was tired and ready to go home, but being a model professional, I had to sit in this 1/2 game, which was really juicy, couldn't leave whilst that game was running and only 5/6handed.

Did alright, won 800, won some fun pots. Pretty funny one with leicesterfish, he's down to his last 500 and a bit tilted, raised the button to 20, I find in the small blind and make it 100, its on him and I think he just wants to flip and stick it in, so try and get him to do so. I say "Do you wanna gamble?", he says "yeh I quite fancy a gamble, what do you have?" and I say "I don't have a pair, what do you have", he says "I have a big card and a lower card". I say "OK, you wanna gamble?" (Meaning just get it in obviously) He says "yeh, let's gamble". And PEELS!

Flop comes - sigh! I'm trying to get to showdown now so check with the speech "I've hit two pair", he looks curious and checks behind. Turn is a , terrible card, I'm sure he has Ace rag - I say "ah that's a bad card, check". He checks again. River is the and I say "Ah i've been counterfeited now, check" and he says "don't tell me you have just ace high Alex......." then bets £100. I call and he says "you must win, just ace high". Was funny Cheesy

Gonna grind a load more cash today, hope the games are good again.

Tune in tomorrow on Radio Golden to hear details of my biggest ever winning session, containing some hand histories that'll make you use phrases such as "does that happen to normal human beings" and "if I could run like Goulder for one day".

Night Night.

Night Night.

Confirmed used both of these phrases tonight. Witnessed it all first hand. Grats on the winning session though mate, I know it's been a tough year up until now.

OK we kick off the session by playing some 2/2 plo before the holdem game got started. We of course did our £200 buyin fairly sharply, but this was actually down to bad luck this time, rather than my usual inept skills that cause me to lose money in non-holdem games.

  • The 1/2 starts and we begin by making some let's say breakeven peels with gutshot+backdoor flush draw on the flop, turning the flush draw, making another breakeven call when he pots it (again, feeling invincible, feeling like I'm gonna get there everytime), of course binking the flush and donk shoving the river and getting paid. I suppose the implied odds were there if I get paid almost everytime. More or less... Lucky star #1

  • Leicesterfish pays me three big streets on A4596, I had dem Aces of course.

  • Leicesterfish and I play a big pot where I check raise K84r barrel a 3 turn, and check shove a K river for £700, he calls with AK. What's the luckiest hand for me to have in this situation? Yup, I had dem treees.

It's nice to wake up and have to relive these moments one by one. I think I've forgotten a few...

  • There was this chinese scottish dude in the game who was wearing sunglasses that really tilted me and he kept opening for £5 at 1/2 which is just so dumb when everyone is >500bbs deep and so peel happy. So i decided to punish him, and relentlessly 3b his silly opens. NO EGO IN POKER PEOPLE Cheesy I had T8o on this occasion, and he peeled oop and i cbet 945, he called, I barrelled on a 2 turn (he was folding to turn bets a high % so I thought it was OK), he called again and then I pinged a T on the river and got £230 snap called

  • I play a big pot with PeeJay, with KT vs his 55 on K75T, all goes in on the turn, £750 each. The river was................................................................ Bet you weren't expecting that! I'M SO UNLUCKY!

  • But don't worry, the downswing didn't last too long. About 10 minutes later I get AA vs KK for a 2.6k pot and hold! Cheesy
Was pretty funny the way the betting went. It was vs a chinese fish who was on my left, he limps to my £4 straddle, I make it 20, he then just makes it £200.    dad dont dance were roughly my emotions at the time. I make it £500 and he snap shoves for £1300. #normal.

  • Finish the session by flopping some casual quads in a 4way 3b pot and Stevie Bantick goes a bit crazy on the turn, win a few hundred there, fairly standard.

Is that enough pictures and emoticons? John Black eat your heart out.

Booked a £3.7k win for the session, pretty deeece for a 1/2 game. Don't think I could be running any better at the moment. I'm sure I'm going to have a big downswing soon, but I'm ready for it. You won't see any complaining here. Unless it gets >10k Tongue

Hope you all run like this someday soon.

The downside to running like this (and I think I can live with it) is that it's really pissing off my friends! Most of them are running really bad atm and it's just getting ridiculous when I'm sat next to one of them in a juicy game, and they're getting bummed and I'm just getting all the cake.

And the thing is, and I'm sure you're all aware of this lol, I'm nothing special. I'm not doing anything sick or impressive to win these hands. I mean AA vs KK? Backdooring flushes, flopping quads, turning sets. What's the skill? It's all luck.

It will happen to you soon, keep the faith everyone, you're more than capable of peeling back two aces and have somebody limp raise to £200. The next heater is always just around the corner, so keep playing and keep loving the game!

Was that your Scottish Chinese guy? the cash up here is very different, less pre flop action than DTD so this kind of pot builder raise is common place! however bad it may be!

Really pleased to see you running well after your horrific 150 hand downswing a couple of months back.
