Your TR report is not totally true now is it Alex, in the first 20 mins of the 700 wcoop you played 3 hands, you tried to rep the flop each time and each time you got called, your turn bets were weak and didn't make any sense so you ended up spewing 100k with the blinds at 3k/6k. You then had your KK V's AJ, you started that hand with just under 80k. You lost and had 20k left when the blinds were still 3k/6k. If you are going to paint a picture of how/why you didn't run deep into a tournament on day two its best to tell the whole truth. Not something that excuses your bad play. You played those first 3 hands badly. You had a starting stack of just under 180k and you rushed the early period of the tournament.
I have watched you a number of times on stars and I've been interested at your TR, they clearly don't represent the "truth"............... so, unlucky with the KK hand but lets have the correct detail behind some of your poor poker plays.
Kind regards.
Pretty sure if you read above, it says about the J9 hand which is a perfect representation of what happened. Alex quite clearly pointed out the hand that lost him half his stack, he also posted the HH in his staking thread.
Also, what does losing pots have to do with anything? I can categorically say that Alex's trip report is perfectly reasonable. I sat and watched the same as you say you did. I dont think you understand that aggro players play in alot of pots and sometimes lose a few. Unfortunately we cant win every pot we enter, otherwise poker would be pretty easy! If you are such a poker genious, then please explain what Alex did right/wrong in the "weak" hands. As far as I know (and Im pretty sure the group of Poker friends that me and Alex share would say the same), he played the hands standard.
Also, FWIW Alex lost around 57k in the J9 hand. He started the hand with 146,517. Think we can safely say our hero didnt spew much inbetween that and the KK<AJ hand that happened 3 or so orbits later.
(For anyone that wants to see the J9 hand, see here
http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=58787.90
).
Im sick to the back teeth of morons coming on here with the sole intent to troll the base community of this forum. Your first post is baiting Alex into a TR about the tournament and your second is calling him out on that TR, talking absolute bollocks. Please, do us all a favour and crawl back under that bridge or rock or wherever trolls live nowadays.

Not that im trying to be inflamatory JK but I better than most know how tough it is to really paint a picture of poker hands sometimes. And not that I have any idea about the hands in question but I think the post is fair and gentle as trolling goes. Id be interested to see the hands in question and alex's side of why they were played the way they were. Lots of players justify things by saying 'oh that's standard' when sometimes it is but sometimes it really isn't.
Alex, on the degen stuff in house.. I really think you do need to cap it, being a winning poker player but losing any money on 0ev gambling for fun doesn't sound like a good idea longterm. You obviously know that 'sitting @ 5/10 to get out of it' is an unhealthy and unhelpful mental state and imo whether you did a win or not you need to be afraid of this comment alone, then doubly so that you acted on it.
Keys post from the other day comes to mind.. "if you are still affected by it 15mins later then you have a mental game problem and you need to address it before you could ever be a professional gambler".

"I can't stop myself because a) it's loads of fun and b) since we take it in turns to be the "house", it's neutral EV, or perhaps even +EV since PJ and Mitch are basic strategy fish and I generally bet small when I'm not the house, and take large bets when I am the house - so in should actually be +EV"
Snap get out of this mindset. Its a generation thing as its the impression I get of loads of people who enter gambling through poker.
Karma is too powerful and rightfully should punish you for attempting to take advantage

I watched the hands John, as I said above, they were standard. I wouldnt say they were standard if they werent (I wouldnt even react). They were just your general bet flop/bet turn/get CRai'd/fold.
Its not wether its gentle or harsh in terms of trolling, its the fact that hes signed up to troll Alex. That pisses me off no end.
Anyway completely agree with Dubai about the mindset of Blackjack etc. Cant believe you guys do that tbh, its pretty stupid. Yeah I know its fun and a good laugh etc, but the money you guys are playing for is a bit ridic...

Exactly that. People like this, anonymous people with an agenda to bring nothing to the community they post on except to poke a stick at an individual, or worse, are a plague on facebook, here occasionally, other forums
Don't care whether what the guy is saying is true or not, its the fact that he's trolling in the first place that is the problem
I'd mind a bit less if he put his name at the bottom of the post. Bit more credibility that way.

Disagree. We have a guy here who has posted some normal questions in a reasonable way. I agree they wont be popular questions but so what I would still categorize them as normal. Alex can respond by saying he thinks his plays were standard and here's why or just ignore it. Either way I don't see what harm is done by these normal questions and think such contributions can often provoke a discussion, which is better than no discussion. I am sure Alex can take it all in his stride really. People are reacting to the motive when really we don't know the motive after 2 posts. This guy gives Alex a chance to reflect on his comp and either concede or defend his early strat. Either way no harm done and no need for people to get pissed off.

Is this some kind of level 2 post?
The guy uses the words spew, bad play, played badly, rushed, poor play all in a short paragraph.
It's pretty obviously designed to get a rise to me. But obviously you're entitled to your opinion.

Sorry Mantis but I completely disagree.
I definitely think you're right in some situations. However the tone of the post was anything but constructive. The intentions of the post are perfectly clear (IMO anyway) and a long way from reasonable.
Constructive criticism is good, but it has to be done correctly otherwise its just slagging somebody off.

Think I must be some kind of hard ass because words like 'bad play' 'rushed' and 'poor play' don't tend to upset me so much.

Exactly this, the questions themselves are fine, it's the method and tone of the questioning that some, including myself have difficulty with.
A simple, "Alex you played 3 hands early in which you lost a few chips through, can you detail your holdings/thought process" would surely suffice as opposed to a vicious attack on his game

It's about tone.
If more people could constructively criticise, with language befitting, the world of forums would be a happier place.
