"I said this 5 years about El Blondie, which I got banned from the site. Tikay took offence but I heard El Blondie is now working in a local computer repair shop in Alaska?"

The whole poker circuit at the top level seems completely at odds with reality, but it continues to survive quite happily in Narnia. That you can spend a nurse's annual take-home and lose it in a single hand is comically out of sync.
Correct me if I am wrong with any of this and please understand that it is said without any sense of criticism. Poker has its bubble, as does any industry. You can spend £20k on a bottle of wine.
As I understand it, a lot of the players in these events are either:
1. Backed
2. Partly backed
3. Sponsored or
4. Satellite winners
Very few are direct buy-ins.
The staking thread suggests that the UK poker economy mainly has players who have spread their money around more; supporting each other for less radical swings in individual bankrolls.
As I see it, as an outsider, all that's fine. It is an odd way of business management to have so much of your capital locked up, but it seems to work for so many that, as long as the market is there, it works well.
If I get good enough at this poker lark to join you all, I'll probably be the same

FULL DAY OFF POKER YESTERDAY [X]
Might try and do another one today! Felt good! Played football on the 7 aside pitch which was pretty sweet - think we got about 16 to turn up which was great. Quite a few of the DTD dealers came plus the usual suspects - was a good laugh.
Spent the rest of the day chilling at home really, hanging out with PJ, THigh and Stato and quite a lot on my own. Watched the Mila Kunis/JTimberlake film Friends with Benefits, some incred scenes
. Not gonna win any Oscars though
I've been writing quite a bit of music recently - piano stuff, film music - basically I think it should appear in the next Batman movie
That's pretty fun, but also feels kind of pointless - I've written so many little bits and bobs over the years, they just get stored in my brain and never used again, eventually I forget them. I enjoy writing them though and I hope one day I actually do something with it, no idea what that would be yet though.
Going to play GUKPT Luton on friday and some PLO on wednesday. Poker schedule pretty quiet for the next few weeks.

Ooh £250 added tomorrow, may take a trip down*.
* That will be £500 added then.

Most of the bets placed so far seem more like hopeful punts rather than value spots
