A good friend of mine named Billy once said something along the lines of:

When the going gets tough
The tough get going, tough, tough, huh, huh, huh
When the going gets tough, the tough get ready

Yeah, ooooh, du da do da

I got something to tell you
I got something to say
I'm gonna put this dream in motion
Never let nothing stand in my way
When the going gets touch
The tough get going

I'm gonna get myself 'cross the river
That's the price I'm willing to pay
I'm gonna make you stand and deliver
And give me love in the old-fashion way

Woooh

Darlin', I'll climb any mountain
Darlin', I'll do anything

Ooh, can I touch you (can I touch you)
And do the things that lovers do
Ooh, wanna hold you (wanna hold you)
I gotta get it through to you, oooh

When the going gets tough
The tough get going
When the going gets rough
The tough get rough
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Ooooh baby

I'm gonna buy me a one-way ticket
Nothin's gonna hold me back
Your love's like a slow train coming (slow train coming)
And I feel it coming down the track (woh)

Darlin', I'll climb any mountain
Darlin', I'll do anything
Ooh (ooh) can I touch you (can I touch you)
And do the things that lovers do
Ooh, (ooh) wanna hold you (wanna hold you)
I gotta get it through to you (ooh)
'Cause when the going gets tough
The tough get going
When the going gets rough
The tough get rough

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Wooh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Darlin', I'll climb any mountain
Darlin', I'll swim any sea
Darlin', I'll reach for the heaven
Darlin', with you lovin' me
Oooh (oooh)

Oooh, can I touch you (can I touch you)
And do the things that lovers do (can I touch you)
Oooh, wanna hold you (wanna hold you)
I gotta get it through to you

When the going gets tough
Going gets tough
Going gets rough
Going gets rough...

The bit about touching can be overlooked, but the rest still applies.

Hope this helps.

Every now and then, I am reminded that the internet is a glorious thing.

This is exactly what I imagine Sir Tim Berners-Lee has in mind.

Do you really think this was what he had in mind when dreaming up the Internet?  And do you think giving a medium for gangnam style is what it is all about?

1. You do realise that was sarcasm, right?
2. Sir Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web.

What would you be doing now instead of poker if at the start you hadn't run well?

you need to suffer (not because you've run well) but because otherwise you don't have the real love and desire for the game that Stu referenced.

It's such a sick feeling going through a downswing, playing more sessions and still running cold, then hitting a few hands during your next session and you're just suddenly joke confident again and enjoying it and wanting to play more. It's then a case of next time you get rimmed horrifically do you just laugh and reload and keep playing well or do you revert back into a negative mindset and look for excuses and aid the downswing. (I see a tonne of these problems in Sean when I read his diary) and I was going to post on it earlier then I didn't and now i've just flicked through here (because Tal posted ldo) and just get the impression that even though you say 'I know i've run well' you don't realise 'how well'.

also with regards to how other people just don't get poker, yeh you can't understate it enough.

Keep venting Alex. It's your money, your diary & your problem when it goes wrong.
