Nope. The day ones are not satellites.

Well essentially they are as they stop when a number of players are left rather than an amount of time.

But you retain your stack, that you gain at the end. This isn't a characteristic of satellites. I think tighty knows what he's on about :p

both answers are correct on different levels

in a court of law style arguement - it is clearly a E300 comp

However the fact the blinds reset, it can be argued that its effectvely a E3k comp

It is obviously something unique and therefore it perhaps needs its own new name?!?!?

Day 1s are Day 1s.. The vast majority will play a DAY 1 for 300 euros, you will get a small % buy in directly to DAY 2 for 3k. Ergo 300 euro comp. Thank you and gutten abend, I bid you a jew.

If my argument holds in a court of law that's fine by me. Smiley Would be a first tho. Sad

Don't get me started on the mincash argument..

hmmmm if we are going to use the argument it is  E300 buyin then surely it is a E3 buyin.  From what I can see the nut worst way to play these is to pay cash for a day one seat.  It is literally the only step along the way that has no overlay.  playing the E3, E30 sats to day one and the £50 rebuys to day 2 seems the nut best way to play this if you cant afford a Day 2 seat to me.

it's a hybrid

if it were a true Day1 / Day 2 with 10% going through there wouldn't be an opportunity to stump up E3000 and no resetting of the blinds and most, if not all, of the survivors would be itm

but if it were a true 3000 euro tournament then the Day 2 entrants wouldn't be starting with a chip stack that is around 27% of the biggest stack currently in play.

It's a really interesting debate though

and if you are going to say that then you take it to the next step (which many people have) and say its a -xxx buy in

I have spent circa E400 playing satellites (at all levels) and won 4 seats, and entered day 2 at my 2nd attempt meaning I get a E600 refund.

On its facts, it is a E300 tourney with weird blinds, weird pay structure and an ability to buy in to Day 2 for circa average stack for E3k.

Pancetta/smoked bacon is the key element IMO in Spag Bol

Basics recipe would be brown mince/chopped chuck steak, mince which can be beef or a mixture of 2/3 meats, drain set aside- fry 1 onion, 5/6 garlic cloves, 3/4 rashers of smoked bacon or equivalent in pancetta, peppers, maybe a chilli, load of oregano, basil, thyme and possibly small bit of chilli powder,  add 1 can tinned tomatoes, touch of tomato purée, 2 glasses red wine probably a Shiraz, throw meat back in bring to boil, allow to simmer for hour or so to reduce wine enough, taste, add loads of salt and pepper and done. Longer u simmer better it will taste anyway but hour minimum for me

White wine tho, not red. You want a subtle sweet acidity, not overpowering flavour. And add a small glass of milk after wine reduction, sounds rank and wrong but I assure you it is authentic and how the Italians do it, google it.

Italians use carrots and celery as well and I don't use them- I think white wine is fine if you are making a veal ragu but prefer red by far for pork and more so for beef, which I assume is what Alex is using. Strong flavours stand up well when you got loads of garlic, smoky salty bacon and the kick of chilli

I like how the debate is moving seamlessly between the structures of a poker comp and spaghetti bolognese
