OMG, amazing stuff going on at Newbury.
Horses just entered the paddock for the first race. A couple of them were said to have 'wobbled' and two have just keeled over and died. WTF!
Something weird is going on.
How intriguing - any further news?
RP reports states that a live cable has been unearthed. Paddock is not to be used for the remainder of the day and they'll use the pre-parade ring instead.
A lot of people calling for everything to be called off on the RP website (but then again there ussually are when something like this happens) I don't know what the H&S iimplications are of something like this but hope they get this sorted and thoughts go out to connections of the two horses (who will no doubt be putting in a claim and the H&S people will no doubt be shitting themselves ATM)

Racing abandoned at Newbury. Common sense prevails imo. Still amazed they ran the first.

Reports that some of the runners in the first came back with burns in their mouth (where the bit sits)?

According to Francome, it takes about a sixth the amount of leccy to kill a human to kill a horse. Desperate.
Felt for Graham Thorner losing Marching Song. And Clerk of the course looked gutted.

Time for a quick tournament report. For therapeutic reasons. To try and get myself off tilt.
The difference in standard between the Luton £50er FO on Monday and the £60er double chance on Thursday has become apparent the last couple of weeks. At least on my tables.
Tonight I had Luton Rover and Perfectpercy on my table. Someone to chunter away to at least. Although the former is unpredictable and Percy Conway was raising every hand the first two levels. Directly to my right. Marv.
To my left was a nervous newbie and to his left were three old nits. All were taking it in turns folding and calling out of turn. Don't think a single hand went by without some feck up or other.
Anyways, only had 6000 at the first break and was down to 5000 when the following hand took place at 100-200.
I have JJ in early posi and make it 575. Nervous newbie has gone by now, so it's straight into nit territory.
Old nit 1 thinks briefly and then throws out 200. As soon as he's done this I knock over my four chips to show it was a raise to 575.
Old nit 2 is oblivious to all this and announces raise. FFS! The dealer intervenes.
Nit 1 decides to fold. Nit 2 throws out 1050. I ask the dealer if there's any ruling here on whether he has to min raise. Which obv isn't 1050. Dealer says it'll be a min raise. Can't be arsed to get a ruling. Assume he can raise whatever he wants. But he'd only min raise anyway. It's the old nit way.
So it's folded back to me. I know it's an all in pre spot. But decide not to. The old nit's pokering handbook clearly states that, in such a spot, the old nit is to...
A) Shrug his shoulders and say "Oh well, came here to gamble..." and throw his remaining 4000 chips in.
B) Sigh and say "Oh well. I know I'm behind but too much out there now..." and throw his remaining chips in.
Besides, when these old boys find a hand they're happy to raise with, you know the rest are following, whether it's KQ, AJ, whatever.
So I decide to outplay the flotsam down the streets. And just call to see what the flop does.
It comes 33Q. Sigh. I check. He checks. Ooh good, must be in front here.
Turn is another 3. I chuck out 1100. He insta calls.
River is an ace. Sigh. I check. He bets 1200. I fold. He shows AJ. WP.

That's it for me for Mondays in Luton for the time being. £50 freezeouts attract a lot of wankers.
Next month is going to be taken up by some bigger tourneys anyway. First proper poker for a while. English deepstack thing and then the GUKPT at the Vic. Then we're into April, when evening racing starts, and Luton Mondays will be off the agenda anyway.
Maybe the odd trip if loads of blondeys are going but arse biscuits to it otherwise.
^^^ Sure was after hand analysis from inferior pokerers ^^^

Have you bought in yet for the deepstack thing?

Not gonna bother with backing a goal glut in the Yeovil v Posh match tomorrow night. Not feeling it this time.
If I'm wrong, meh, but happy to sit it out before having a good look at the home game with the Trannies on Saturday.

Yep, bought in last Monday. I was number one on the Luton system and they had to set the tournament up before my very eyes.
According to Nina, folk are buying in online, so God knows how many are actually in already.
If more than 200 show up, Kalam will probably just close the casino again.

Someone mentioned last night that there were 200 in already. Can't see it myself.

I'm on anwyay, i'm feeling it!
0-0 here we go! Just feel 7.4 is value and dabbled on the 3+ goals market@5-2 in the second half.
Going against the chomps is dangerous, but bragging rights await!
