This is headsup in a MTT, 1st pays 1100 2nd 700

It's you first to speak on the river, the board reads 34567 you have the straight to the 8, your oppo is very aggresive.

It's a 32,000 pot, you have 152k he has 145k.

Do you check, or bet, if you bet how much?

Is he good aggressive, bad aggressive, or neutral?

If he's bad, you can just stick it all in, he probably calls.

If he is good, you probably have to bet. Its a bit like the co-operative strategy in the prisoners dilemma (loosely), if you check, he checks,  but if you bet, he will feel affronted, and quite possibly try and raise you out the pot... so you obviously need to bet an amount that a) looks like a steal b) leaves him with enough FE to attempt the steal.  40k is about the right amount here. Too little, and he is prone to getting suspicious of a value bet, and too much will likely get a fold from him

I bet twice the pot if he's loose aggressive, probably get a call.

If he's tight aggressive, I bet half the pot for value.

but you want him to sniff weakness, so show him it and then wait for the re-raise

If he's loose aggressive I'm happy with just the call of the big bet.

If he's tight aggressive, the half pot sized bet allows him plenty room to sniff weakness and make a move.

I moved in, i really though he would call and he took up to the 10 second warning.

I think the correct play was either betting 30k and letting him raise, or check raising him as i can't see him checking
