You have been playing for a couple of hours. The Villain is on tilt, 20 hands ago the Hero busted The Villains pocket  with  on a Jack/hi flop. The Villain is a very agressive player, He also thinks he's a better player than the Hero

Blinds are £10/£20

Hero Has £6410

Villain Has   £5280

The Villain is on the button and makes it £100 to play

The Hero is in the BB and has  As Ah

What would you do ...?

Um im not goof at taking my own advice and i would probably end up re raising to 250. Yet i think a better play might be to flat call and then let him make a continuation bet at a non scary flop. This of course is fraught with danger but a tiliting player will also certainly continuation bet any hand on the flop if checked to. If you raise pre flop you may lose your customer, but it depends on how you have been playing him pre flop. Have you gone over the top before with less than premimum hands, if so maybe doing so again would be profitable.

pop it up to £300 and bet 1/2 the pot on the flop, regardless

with his tilty frame of mind and thinking he can outplay you he won't pass pre-flop and will interpret your bet on the flop as weakness and it will be a red rag to a bul

Sounds like a good plan, I'd be inclined to make it more than 300 though as he's on tilt you can get away with raising more, say 400.

I make it 250, he will call with any 2 thinking he can outplay. And as tighty says make a weakish stab on the flop and he is bound to raise.

Its got to be a reraise to about £250 as said above, unless you have an image of only reraising pre with high pairs and AK.  The half pot bet is perfect.  If he is trying to outplay you he will raise the flop or flat call and raise the turn (maybe 1/3 pot bet on turn).

I would overraise here for 2 reasons:

1) The Villain has raised 5XBB, an overraise in itself, and if on tilt and mid "superiority complex thinking" he will surely call.

2) If it is the same Villain from the other hand analysis thread he may even reraise you again if he thinks you are weak (hopefully with a big ace).

Sorry to be different but to me this is a great spot for an overraise.

I make it $500 to go.

I type in the chatbox "ooooo nice, more of your free money" then raise 250.
BTW is he tilting from 20 hands earlier?

The Hero decided to flat call OOP to try and 'get on'

£200 in the pot

The flop

The Hero checks, the Villain bets £150

What would you do ...?

Flat call and raise the turn

He will bet the turn

but you might be storing up trouble for yourself, however you have played to get on so now you need to hook the bait. No worrying about trip 7's just yet
