Day 15
- Sorry folks I would have updated last night (by that I mean 9am-10am) but was really tired. Just woke up and now I'll let you know what's been happening in the wonderful world of Turbo STT's
Day 14 wasn't worth updating. After getting back from Cincinattis, I only played one batch of 4 before deciding that I was too tired to contine. Wish I had updated now, I won $7.5, at least that would have been a win to report, as it happens I'm afraid it's another red day today.
In fact last night I spotted the first signs of tilt. I didn't enter any more tournaments immediately after the following happened.....
In the big blind. Blinds were 100/200 6 left, I have just over 2k in chips (13.5k on the table) I have JJ. There is a raise to 400, then a re-raise to 800. Alarm bells 'R us. I should be folding here all day and all night. I didn't, I went all-in, sure enough the re-raiser shows the Aces and I crash out of the tournament in 6th. This is such a horrible play and I was ashamed of it, even before the AA called and turned his cards over.
Definately time to quit for the day if you find yourself doing something like that. 34 was a decent amount to get under the belt anyway.
Day 15 (and 14) Results:
-$597
(+3272.8 total)
ROI : 17.1 % after 319 tournaments played (Much closer to the 15% I was originally anticipating)
Although the variance in STT is much lower than playing MTT or cash games, it is still very much there. A lot of my edge will come from winning more than my fair share of heads up encounters because my opponent is not as aggresive as he should be. This can't come to bear if I'm going through a streak of finishing 3rd too often.
If the ROI stays above 15% after 500 tournaments I'll be a happy bunny.

I'm going to update on a less regular basis now, maybe once or twice a week.
I don't want it to become just a results post, I'll only update when I can think of something to write about aswell, or when I reach a milestone.
For fans of this thread don't worry, I'll still strive to update it about twice a week.

Are you the first person to reach Supernova status Tank? It's mentioned on logging in to Stars.

I hope 'elky' doesn't lose all his dough in the process.
He'll need to save some back to insure that Porsche!

Days 16, 17, 18 and 19
- Father forgive me, it has been four days since my last confession. Actually I'm not Catholic, Day 16 made me wish I was though. I typed up a report on it at the time. After reading it through, it looked like a self indulgent whine-athon so I janked it. I am trying not to whinge about running bad, or at least keeping it to a minimum (Won 4 races out of 30ish, nuff said.)
After Day 16 I knew I'd need
another
day off, lest I steam off loads of dosh. Finished off down about $1.5k (eek)
So I took Day 17
and
18 off. That's made me fall way behind, but when you're breaking because of a bad run, it takes as long as it takes. Went out and did the whole social thingy, pretended I was a normal person for a couple of days.
It did the trick, Day 19 saw me back to my winning ways. Up about $800 last night.
Players at the table have started calling me offensive names again, always a good sign
Day 16-19 Results
:
-$753.5
(+$2,519.3 total)
ROI : 10.9% (after 385 tournaments)
Oddly I kinda feel better just now than I did after the end of the first week.
Then my ROI was 40%ish and, realistically, I knew it could only go down.
Just now, after a week of rotten luck, I'm confident it will rise. The glass is always half full.
Day 19 was a winner, my confidence has been restored. I'm gonna knock em dead the rest of the month and get that ROI up to at least 15% before I hit 500 tournies played. Ra ra ra aaaaayyyyyyyyyaaaaaaaarrrrrrrr
