a couple of us are coming thru to CinCins to see what all the fuss is about!!

Do let us know when you do and I'll certainly make a point of popping in that night. It'll be nice to put a face to the name as I missed you when I played in Edinburgh.

Especially when your A 7 beats their A Q on the river...

When this happens, hand the player who held AQ the deck of cards and tell him to "Deal with it!"

Yet another winning day,

I know its early days but im very impressed by your consistency, keep up the good work and i'll be avoiding you at
all costs  Cheesy

P.s do u manually work out your ROI or do u have a piece of software?

All the best
Jim.

Eh up Tank,

Never been a regular sng's player but having read your posts there is a decent profit to be made.
Last night i played the folllowing Tournies
$50 PL no result
$50 rebuy ($155 invested) no result
$10 omaha hi/lo no result

So 3 hrs invested no results so i decided to play 4 sng's before bed $55 Turbo's, Results 1st 2nd 2 blanks ($200ish profit).
So i'm going to give it ago on Weds night no Tournies just $55 Turbo's will try to play 20 and see what happens

I manually work it out. The money made divided by the product of the number of tournaments I've entered and $60. Easy enough with windows calculator, takes 20 seconds.
I find statistical software, which was invaluable while playing cash games, not nearly as vital in tournaments.

I hope this thread doesn't encourage too many players of your calibre to give these a try. For the moment though, there's plenty water in the turbo well for all, so good luck to you.

I am doing the same. word of warning - after 9 SNG's last week my ROI was 99% and i thought i was Phil Ivey!!!

Honestly thought i was unbeatable and could make a lot of money from SNG's

Now have done 27 as of tonite (only playing recreationally approx 4 a day) and my ROI is 22% and i am really struggling to get it back again!!!

Where did it all go wrong?? Someone help!!!

Day 10 - Finally, I've had "one of those days". More 3rds and 4ths than you could shake a big hairy stick at. Not moaning, this is what happens in poker. I'm just happy that I managed to get another 34 under my belt. This ain't no bad beat thread, and I don't intend to make it so, no matter how bad they get.

I bought a new computer today, with a view to allowing the possibility of playing more than 4 tables. Even if I do stick to just the four-at-a-time, the 24" widescreen monitor will still come in handy. It'll make it easier on my 'ol mince pies. If I stare at my laptop for 8 hours every night I'll probably eventually go blind (even faster perhaps, depends what I'm using it for Cheesy)

Got it from t'internet, so I have to wait a week or so before my new toy is delivered. I'll have to fiddle with wires to set it up though, that always stumps me for a fair few hours.

Day 10 Results : -$555 (+$4410 total)
ROI - 33.4% (after 220 tournaments)

Tank, can you show me how to work out ROI based on this ficticious set of results:

100 tourneys entered @ 66 a go
$12k profit.

181%

66x100 + 12000.

Then divide that by 66x100

Cheers.

Just went through it and I got the same (wrong) results as I had before I asked.

66x100 (6600) + 12000 = 18600

18600/6600 = 2.818.

Where did I go wrong?
