I've been asked to put this up on behalf of Phatomch / Mike Clark or that fat bloke who used to run the GUKPT's. If this isn't ok please take down mod's, but it is for charity.

I've just started a new job and within the 1st few weeks agreed to do a 30.5 mile walk in aid of Clic Sargent. It's a great charity and worth killing myself by doing this walk. I've come to you with hat in hand looking for sponsorship. i've set up a just giving page that can be found here.

http://www.justgiving.com/mike-clark0

Believe it or not, i'm not famed for more sporting prowess and shifting my 20 stone+ bulk which is more used to walking to the fridge and back than from Andover to Southampton.

I will be walking with a group of work mates from Wetherspoons Andover at 07:00, to Winchester and then on to Southampton a total of 30.5 miles.

I will be doing this in fancy dress (yet to be decided on) and any ideas are welcome.  <-------- The highest donation can decide (within reason)

Cheers

'Ohmygod! Is he still doing the Marathon!?” asks a woman, stopping to watch. Her eyes fill with tears. It is, indeed, a poignant sight. A severely disabled man summoning up every ounce of inner strength to walk the 26.2 miles of the London Marathon. The race finished nearly five weeks ago. Kate and Wills are married (he was inching through Deptford then); Osama bin Laden is dead. But this competitor still has 11 miles to go. Today he’s in Limehouse, fighting the daily horror of moving again.

Sorry Cos but it really should.

If people want to be sponsored they should be prepared to put their hands in their pockets when others ask for it.

I myself would never ask for sponsorship because I never dish any out.

Disagree completely matt.

Phatomch might not have the dosh to give to charity. Everyone's circumstances are different. He's doing his bit though to raise money so boshi either donates or doesn't because he wants/doesnt want to.

agree with this.  Also most people probably have a certain amount they give to good causes - if it came down to a choice between sponsoring someone I didn't know as well but for a charity that's close to my heart, or someone I know a bit better raising money for something I wouldn't otherwise choose to support, then the choice of charity will be the deciding factor.

Lee you answered your own question.

If you are skint you cannot afford to donate. If kinboshi can afford to but chooses not to on the basis that you haven't sponsored him then that's pretty lame imo.
