Awesome...

Come on Pac Man, if Mayweather wins he just has to go down as the greatest ever.

Tonight there's one incredibly low profile title fight going down between two big men Stiverne and Wilder.

I talked about this in the pub today with a few of my UFC supporting mates. They have a passing knowledge of boxing and ask me a bit about it , much in the same way I do in return about UFC. Now they didn't know the fight was on, in fact, they couldn't recall who either boxer was.

Paul Gibson of the Guardian gave an accurate summary of Deontay Wilder's career to date, "Although all fighters are reared on a diet of canned tomatoes in the infancy of their career, it is equally true that the quality of tomato tends to improve markedly year on year. The fact that, four years into his career, and at the relatively ripe age of 27, Wilder was still feasting on discounted Asda own-brand when he should have already sampled Sainsbury’s Basic and been looking towards Tesco Finest, tinkled alarm bells in some quarters."

Stiverne was carrying excess pounds at the weigh-in. Still expect him to win.

Extra pounds is not a great thing.

One big question is how did Deontay Wilder lose 5lb from his normal fighting weight? The man has 18" thighs for christ sake!

It's amazing how low key this Heavyweight world title fight was. It's also incredible to think that a heavyweight world champion has only fought more than four rounds once in his career.

Although saying that, I'm excited about Anthony Joshua getting a chance at world level soon, and he has barely fought twelve rounds in total during his entire professional career so far. Think that just highlights the paucity of talent in the division.

I'm only 3 rounds into the fight but it's funny how Wilder and Fury mouth off about Vlad being boring only to regress into copying his big man vs small man blue print.

Granted wilder is letting his hooks off up close rather than clinching but he's throwing notably fewer wide punches than before the Gavern fight.

Glad Wilder won, didn't rate Stiverne even when he won WBC. Time for David Haye to get his gloves back on I think. AJ be ready next year.

So Mayweather may take on Cotto again, rather than Pacqauio, now that Canelo-Cotto has fallen through.

I think Cotto is the one that Mayweather should avoid at this stage. He has come on since they fought before (and that was Mayweather's hardest fight). Better to stick with Pacquaio, who he is more likely to win against, in my opinion.

It's pretty unanimous that Mayweaher dodged "peak" Pacquiao. If he ends up not taking this with all his stipulations met and 60% he really is running scared.

Frampton fight on terrestrial TV. A very good move by McGuigan.

Brilliant move. It'd be great to have another player in the boxing game and ITV must be looking for another sport after losing the CL rights.
