The fact that every day seems to be given a name. Today was "Super Thursday" apparently.

My current list includes:

Getting a walk in the big blind when holding AA.

Phil Collins, Bono & Sting but not necessarily in that order.

Non-runners in 8 and 16 runner handicaps

"Tipsters" on Twitter who tweet "Booooooooooooooooooooom" after today's nap wins at 2/7

Facebook

BBC Question Time's fixation with having irrelevant panelists.  I don't care what Jermaine Jenas or Joey Barton think about the economy or the EU referendum. Next they'll be getting Ian Duncan-Smith,  Denis Skinner & Nigel Farage on Match Of The Day to discuss whether they prefer a flat back four or three centre halves with attacking wing backs.

Jeremy Hunt

Seagulls. They are utter bastards, becoming less wary, more violent and on the verge of being out of control where I live on the coast in West Sussex.  Although watching unsuspecting tourists and day-trippers trying to sit near the beach and eat their picnics while being constantly divebombed can be quite entertaining.

Food waste by UK supermarkets. The Italians and (I think) the French recently passed laws forcing supermarkets to pass all excess/past best before date products onto foodbanks.

Betting shops (I used to love spending an occasional afternoon in the bookies, can't get in & out quickly enough now).

Ryanair

Listing that lot was quite cathartic, must do it again sometime.

Personalised number plates.

Wrong on many levels.

The best ones cost more than many hardworking people earn in a year.

Many are just obscure to the bounds of pointlessness, or relying on the placement of a screw to inject meaning.

Suit makers who think sewing up pockets and vents is a good idea. Why?

If you buy ready to wear, the suit is likely to be tried on by a few people and sit on a hanger in various positions. It needs to retain its shape and the best way to do that is to ensure all the pockets are tied up and held in place.

I'd assumed someone called Longines would be levelling. You could get a very nice suit for the price of one of those watches. Smiley

It is true, though. The suit would be far worse if they didn't sew the pockets up. You want it to keep its shape.

Unless you go made to measure or bespoke, it'll require one of those unpicker thingies.

Or one of those scissors thingies, even.

Or not, perhaps. I used to go around with junk in my pockets. Even though you inload it, coins, keys, tissues and so on find their way back on. A few years ago, I left the pockets on a new suit sewn up, as I knew they would put stuff into themselves. Result - nice flat pockets. I wear suits every day and, for years now, have walked around every day with my jacket pockets still sewn up.
