The Wynn.  Wow.  Now THAT is some building!  Their dedication to even the tiniest of details is impressive.  Every little thing, right down to the colour and style of the chairs at the slot machines was exact and perfect.  Tiles, carpets, lighting - the lot.  I loved it there.  No copying, just class.

Their version of Christmas

We'd called to the Wynn on our way back from Fremont but decided to make it an early night after that.  Don't think I've ever felt so tired in all my life.  I'd still not properly caught up on sleep and we'd only one day left.  Luckily I'd requested different pillows the night before and had half a chance of getting that sleep tonight.

Different pillows.  Yep, I kid you not.  They actually have different types to deal with pain in the arse customers like me.  I'm a down/feathers kinda girl.  Reckoned I was only chancing me arm when I phoned reception.  Got a hop when she said they'd send a different lot up.

Blimey, cheers.

Woke the next morning feeling properly rested for the first time all trip.  Plan for the day?  See as many hotel/casino resorts as we could before meeting up with everyone else later that evening.  Armed myself with comfy clothes and shoes because I just knew...it's gonna be a long one.

On our way through Harrah's to catch the Monorail, we spotted these hats...

Very nearly brought one on for Tikay, but decided against it for two reasons.  First, he probably has a few of them from people by now which he won't wear in a month of Sundays anyway.  Second, they were next to 'hot pants' so I wasn't sure if the hats were meant for men, women or switch hitters.

Handy to know, I usually end up with feathered pillows but don't like them

The Monorail is a brilliant thing!  We'd not used it up to that point.  But with our time limited to just one last day of seeing the sights, we thought it might help us get around a bit faster.  And that it did.  If you've never been to Vegas before, make sure you do one thing when you get there...buy a Monorail pass!!!  And use the damn thing too.  They're great value for money, as well as probably the quickest way to get around to the majority of what you'll want to see.

Look at her talking like she has a clue about anything 'Vegas'.     Monorail, buffet and pillows.  That's prolly my lot on the expertise front.

Anyway, we found ourselves in Paris.  Kind of.  Jack assures me this ceiling I was mad about was in the Paris Hotel/casino.  He says it was taken right after we'd bought some Christmas tree decorations, in which case - he's right.  But don't let him know that.  I'll end up owing him another quarter.

The pictures don't do it justice.  It's a massive stained glass dome ceiling and it's gorgeous.  Although, I pity the person who had to put it together.  That was some job.

To be fair, when I lined up to go on the ride, I'd no idea it went upside down and all over the shop.  It looked MILES tamer from the other side of those buildings!  I'll behave next time.  Promise.

I'd one reason for reeeeeeeeally liking NY, NY.  They'd the best soft pretzels on the planet (outside of NYC) in one of their bars!!!  The Sporting House Bar & Grill is the name of the place and it has Happy Hour Mon. Fri. from 2 - 5.  We didn't know this until arriving.  Just so happens that's the time we'd arrived and luck boxed our jumbo pretzel with two dips (mustard & cheese) for $4 instead of the usual $8.  Nomnomnomnom......heaven!

Wee man (Ger Jr.) joined up with us in the Sports Bar and together we'd a short stroll* past The Excalibur on our way to the MGM.

Wonky shot of Excalibur below...

*There is NO SUCH THING as a 'short stroll' in Vegas and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!  Even if I just wanted to run up to our room for something, it meant the bones of 30 minutes wasted.  And that's if we were in the same building.

But as strolls go...the one from NY, NY to MGM wasn't too bad.

Welcome to the MGM.

Have absolutely no idea why I took this picture or even what it is, but it definitely came from the MGM

So the MGM has this whole 'save the wildlife' kind of theme going on as you head down one set of escalators...

I'm thinking, "That's cool.  God knows they've made enough money through time.  No harm they're pumping some back in to something good."

Then we get to this........................

It's MGM's 'Lion Habitat'.  Now this is all fine and grand if you're at least made believe it's hunky dory.  This is MGM ffs.  Surely they can fake it?

Nope.  Not even their handler was pretending to love life in there.  [ ] sold.

Off to the Bellagio and another 'WOW' visit for me.  The hotel reception area is stunning!

If you want to put together a Thanksgiving display, that right there is how ya do it...

We didn't have a lot of time to spend there as we were on our way to meet Ger (The_duke).  We'd a 'last supper' planned in The Range at 8:00pm and needed to get a move on.  But it was a lovely fly by and if I ever make it back to Vegas, I'll definitely spend more time getting to know this place.

A group of us met up for dinner on the last night at The Range upstairs in Harrah's.  The motley crew included myself, Jack (technolog), Ger (the duke), wee man (the destroyer), Sharon (supernova), Darren (newportlad), Derrick (delboy), Richard (curly), PaulieD & a couple of curly's friends.  We made our way through a lovely meal with plenty of laughs and then it was down to business...a bar.
