Hope Prior and Morgan punish them for that.

The Indians don't deserve any credit. Shouldn't have appealed in the first place.

I think they do deserve credit. England made a bad call not *that* long ago, was it a NZ batsman that was blocked by the bowler and run out? We appealed and made him walk. If we'd have 5 mins to think about it we might have changed our minds. Luckily India did and they did the right thing. Well done to them.

what happened?
Kumar was chasing down a Bell shot. Gave every impression it'd gone for four and it was assumed by both batsmen that it had. Bell then walks off with Morgan for tea as it was the last ball before tea and as they're near the pavillion, Kumar throws the ball in, the Indians take the bails off and then appeal and Bell's given out. They've reversed the decision thankfully.

Ian Bell very lucky there - not India's fault that the ball hadnt gone for 4 - nothing different from a footballer not playing to the whistle.
Good decision for the spirit of the game though and massive credit should go to Dhoni and the Indians there.

I'm confused - can India decide that Bell was not out after all then?
Isn't that the umpires job?

Gotta be an appeal before the umpire can give out. India have the right to take back the appeal if they wish............

Bell has said he thought he heard 'over' called so it's hardly surprising he walked off. Josedinho, they didn't really have much of a choice but to reverse it. It was incredible they'd even done it in the first place. As you've said, they were given time to change their minds due to it being tea which means it's not comparable to what happened in the England - NZ issue; let's not pretend they'd have done the same if that was in the middle of the over.

Atherton, Gower and Hussein all say they would of done what Dhoni did on the field. So you posting F ing Indians was not needed.

Respect to India and Dhoni this is cricket a gentlemans game, in the end they did the right thing.
Obviously under the laws of the game he is out and the umpires did exactly the right thing including asking Dhoni whether he wanted to withdeaw his appeal.
The only one who looks bad here is Bell for some pretty dopey cricket.
