We blatantly need a generic cricket thread. Feels bad bumping old Ashes threads although they do feature great sprinkler footage. I was going to call this "Cricket Thread" may even change it one day but for now it's named after Broady.

Great start to the series going 1 up I think we can beat India at home. Not sure that should make us the worlds best but if we do it we've got to be close.

Strange day in the sun at Trent Bridge. Both fans had something to be happy about. India have the lead and have us 1 down but they should have made over 400 and had the best of the conditions. England saw the Stuart Broad hatrick take them back into the game. Touch wood should be a decent day to bat tomorrow and if we get a lead of 300+ at least we have something to bowl at on day 4. Swanny didn't have his best day at the office did he?

Oh and I'm burnt beyond belief. One of my ears is hotter than the sun.

Never really rated Broad but fairplay to him- when his back's against the wall he delivers.

I for one will be ecstatic if we can chisel out a lead of 200.

Fascinating test match, I've been gued to my telly.

Think Broad has answered his critics superbly and I certainly numbered among them.  Seems as though a fairly simple adjustment to his length has brought about a massive difference.

Yep fair play to Bell,I've always been a fan he seems to have really knuckled down lately, no more elegant 30 or 40's and then out.

Deffo need a generic Cricket thread imo.

Has been a great test match so far, with 2 competitive side on a pitch which makes for a fair contest between bat and ball.

Am waiting to hear details on ticket prices for tomorrow as I will probably go if it is a fair price.

Backed the draw @ just under 5/1.
Doesnt seem to be anything in the pitch now, England will be more than happy to bat India out of the game and showers are also forecast for Tuesday so seemed like a little bit of value

No chance of a draw imo.

Nice to see Pietersen throwing away his wicket yet again.

Appreciate you probably wrote this before the last wicket Matt but, if anything, I think the draw is a decent lay.  They definitely had the heavy rollers on it to help England today and this wicket deteriorates.  Also with Trotts injury they aren't as deep.  Wouldn't be surprised if they didn't get to Tuesday tbh.

Agreed! Cricket is a game of gentlemen, they should be ashamed in claiming that!

That has to be quite easily one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen.
