Yesterday I took the day off to deal the GSOP in Manchester with a few friends. The 20k starting stack comprised of 1x10k and 1x5k chips. Maybe a TD with a wealth of experience can give a few good reasons for this?

One argument for this was that it speeds the tournament up. I'm assuming this was a demonstration of irony. Almost every hand requires change from at least one player; this slows down the action, to standstill in some cases (not to mention how begrudgingly the change is offered.) The fish that want to limp call their chips off before the first break struggle to do so because a genuine part of their decision making process is how awkward it is for them to gamble without the correct change. What's ultimately wrong with having change on the table? Of course there is a finite amount of actual chips, but in most cases there are plenty of spare 100/500/1k denomination chips in the box, and these can still be raced off or coloured up later on.

Does anybody else share this opinion?

Oh, and yeah, found this quite annoying in this comp, especially when people who had seemingly never handled chips in their life were coutning out 10k worth of change for about 15minutes.

So someone poured a drink over someone else? Is that a fair deduction?

I did not pour a drink over anybody nor did I make any violent action towards another being. That's all.

Let's get this thread back on track. So Sean, how did you cope with the abundance of high denomination chips?

Did you get to perfect the impressive and tricky skill of separating chips with a flick of the wrist such that some land over the line and some behind the line? Alas, only other dealers can appreciate this skill.

I mostly partied with a combination of the bouncers, and some concrete floor.

ok so here is my guess,

Alex was being overly chirpy and his excited demeanor came across to some less civilized nottingham natives as arrogance and as a result he got a drink thrown over him. No doubt slightly tilted and a bit irratated by the event Alex starts defending himself to the villain of the crime and is thusly invited to leave the club, he then explains to the bouncers he is the 2010 monte carlo champion and that they, as lesser beings with shit hendon mobs and prolly dont even own a white iPad should leave him the fuck alone and this comment was met by his face colliding for the pavement outside after breifly being used to open the door.

For some reason this is kept from the world?
