Max at the Olympics!!

The wee man went to Hyde Park with Petra yesterday with some friends and they watched the 10k swim and had a little picnic in the park. I actually regret not having made an effort to bag a few tickets for some of the stuff and have been left getting a fix from the telly but I was saying to Max (not that he understood obv) "To be Inspired!!" and it must make parents and family very proud to be watching them especially with the event being in London.

Here he is in his Team GB shirt

I'M SUCH A NIT!!!

I have had just 3 bets in the past week or so with an £80 double on Jess Ennis (after event 1) at 8/11 and Christian Taylor to win the Triple Jump which returned £286 and then yesterday stuck £75 on the recc 5 women to be in the final 10 shortlisted for SPOTY @ 6/1 with the magic sign and then this last night

Which returns a £208 profit but if I had backed them to win am sure it would have been £3500 as Bahama's were 5/2, the pole vaulter 11/10 and think the Turkish girl was 7/2 and am obv kicking myself although the relay team and Turkish girl were not favs for the event so guess I should be glad of booking a win.

With the footie season starting this weekend I am getting ready my season long bets and am preparing to lay out approx £500 with a few face spitters (copyright Steve Palmer of the RP) amongst them and will post them here in due course.

On the poker front I deposited £200 into DTD online 2 weeks ago and have been playing small stakes cash mainly 10c/25c euro and recycling the money and then grinding out 4-5 10 man SNG's a night (volume ftw) for the Chipleader promo and didnt get drawn into the battle for a £500 seat as had already bagged one of those a few weeks ago (In before a lack of Thin-ness!!!) and still have about £60 in there and a stack of 80'000 and have decided that when I get to 100k will stop and play just the 20 man SNG's to try and get a Golden Chip for the event and the current average is 50k with the big blind due to start at 100 so am looking forward to this in the Middle of September before we fly off for 2 weeks to see the relly's in Malta.

Gonna have a small EW interest in Seamus Shindig at 11/1 today in the 6.45pm at Lingfield but only £25EW and a placepot interest in the Shergar Cup meeting at Ascot as it looks very open and might flick it in for the Luton Deepstack tonight if I can get a pass out  Wink

Happy First Anniversary Diary

One year ago I decided to start this and although I have not posted every day and some days thought it would be easier to stop I am happy that it is still going and has a couple of people who read. I understand it will never be as popular as the "Golden One's" or Tikay's but if I can find the odd winner for people then that's good enough for me.

Sorry ElRup
I shall try to redress the balance slightly.

Well Thorpe Bay in Essex is the area my office is located in and despite the doom and gloom merchants around this area is currently flying at the moment and in the past 7 days we have sold 8 Properties with an overall fee value to us of £35'000 of which on average £20'000 will get to be banked and of that my guys will get 5% each and I am lucky enough to get a bit more than them plus a further 5% if I listed (put on the market) or actually introduced the buyer to the property.

This is our average style of property down here

Just come to market at £390'000

One of this weeks sales a cheap bungalow sold at £240'000

And my favourite house sale of the week which was sold subject to contract in 1 week at £580'000

My Chipleader Challenge is going ok

From my initial deposit of £200 and playing a small amount of low stakes cash alongside the odd SNG I currently have 20euro left and this many chips

http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/chipleader.php

I shall iron out the 20 euro on the account and then as Petra's parents are coming over for 2 weeks from Friday will then leave it alone till the start of September and may then just fire off another £50 bullet to ensure a good stack.
Last night I played 4 and won 1 x 10man and 1 x 20 man so secured a golden chip and I would have tried to win a 5man to gain a £150 entry this weekend but it's impossible to gain a pass out.
