I take a bit of time to see who has signed who and read the Racing Post football pullout back to front a gazillion times (out about 2 weeks before the season) listen what respected posters on here and others I know fancy then spend a bit of time sourcing the odds and putting mini acca's around that I like with the different bookies and then watch.

The first one for example pays over 4.5k and most pay a minumimum of a grand and the handicap one across all the leagues pays 6k ftw just on the win part so if you have a few sweats around Xmas you can always hedge the other way in the last few weeks if required but the main reason is now having placed it I wont bet on footie for weeks unless some judges put up a really good selection so in theory it saves me x per week on a 3/4/5 fold and if I get a bink it gets used for something decent for the family.

A little surprised to see that you've included Malaga in there who seem to be in huge financial trouble and have just sold their best player Cazorla to Arsenal. I think virtually the whole squad is up for sale.

I love the start of the footie season and as soon as the Racing Post publish their guide put on a few mug punterish accas on season long stuff and 3 out of the last 4 years I have returned well over a grand with my biggest bink paying for a chunk of my wedding as documented early on in the diary.

This year I was lucky enough to have a Rory Mcllroy bink a week ago along with another sports double which gave me a pre season roll of a grand to play with and over the past week I have invested the LOT and am going to post all my accas and selections here for hopefull thin bragging rights come the end of the season.  Posted in the oreder I fancy them the most

Man City over Liverpool
Man Utd over Liverpool
Newcastle over Sunderland
QPR over West Ham
Darren Bent to score more league goals vs S.Long
Cardiff over Bristol City
Hull over Barnsley
Leicester over Forest
Leeds over Barnsley   £400 acca

Chelsea over Liverpool
Cardiff over Forest
Bradford over Northampton
Barnsley to be relegated  £275 acca

Olympiacos to win the greek league
Cardiff over Forest
Reading over Southampton
Rotherham over Fleetwood
Chelsea without Man U and City  £80 Acca

Peterhead and Queens Park without Rangers
Luton to win the Blue Sq Prem
Barnsley to be relegated  2 x £30 Accas plus a further 2 x £15 accas with
Sheff Utd to win League 1
Southampton to be relegated

Surely you have a couple of related bets in that top one.

If man city beat Liverpool, then man u are more likely to beat Liverpool.  Same with the two over Barnsley?   Hate the idea of putting a bet on where the bookie can decide the price in areas. I assume that will happen here, but maybe someone will correct me. Obv Liverpool are terrible so first two legs weighed in already too.

Most of the bets placed so far seem more like hopeful punts rather than value spots

Hi Doobs
Due to the size of the bets and the returns on most of them they ring through and check them and the top 2 they certainly did and have signed the slip with the bet ref so I am hopefull if they bink that I shall be collecting, I always ask them to check these before accepting as when I had  my big footie acca win a few years back Totesport tried to wriggle out of it until I quoted their own rules back to them.

Chipleader Update

Well Im still grinding 26 euro from the money deposited a while ago and playing micro stakes cash alongside the 4-5 sng's when I can get on the lappy and last night from 5 played won a 20 man and a 10 man for a further 22500 chips to go with the 122500 already banked.

I think I will just grind out the last few euros then chillax on my stack.

In unrelated but excellent news today we are pleased to announce that Petra and myself are expecting our second child and have been for our first scan at the hospital and thankfully all is as well as can be at this early stage  Smiley   Obv I run good even in hospitals as we get there 10mins early for a 9.30 appt to be greeted by at least 15 other sets of expectant parents and as soon as we had sat down we were called through and out within 25 mins...
