Less than a day to D-Day, & I'm still revved up to do it.

End of month, 56k total for Jan in my concept 2 pulling/rowing 1 milly challenge. Very much down on where I wanted to be but I am running again now so I will have fewer sessions to fit my challenge into.

Weighed myself again this morning to double check and I'm 15st 5lb so not as bad as I originally thought.

Tin of tuna for lunch again today I think.

Tom, hope you don't mind me asking, but I'm hoping to join you guys tomorrow.

I see you had breakfast, lunch, dinner, & sundries - all in one day.

Have you given up the diet?

No. But unlike you, I don't have breakfast, dinner, lunch and sundries all on one plate at the same time.

This is true.

You'll have to pardon my line, but it is all part of my motivational process. I honestly believe dieting is a mind-game, & I'm just getting my head, which usually resides up my ample arse, into the right place.

Follow Tom's lead, and eat a sensible and mixed diet meaning he's taking in fewer calories than he's using up.

As a little meerkat character would say: "simples".

Boshi me and the wife are doing 4-5k walks a day after dropping the kids off at school, she has an app and everything. Our prefered route is along a local beck, which has ruined 3 pairs of my trainers. We walked into town to get some glasses fixed and I just wondered if there would be a lot of difference in calories used from walking on a Tarmac path and a muddy country field. Also is there a lot of difference in a leisurely stroll and a brisk march.

Walking along the beck taking in all the wildlife is longer in time and distance but it goes a lot quicker and time flies

I'd doubt there's much difference in terms of calories used from walking on tarmac (which would be easier, but you'd probably walk at a slightly faster pace - so it'll even itself out) to walking on muddy paths.  Hills make a big difference when I run, and that would make a difference when you're walking too in terms of the work done = calories burnt.

Get yourself some decent trail running shoes or walking boots for the off-road stuff.

Jase.

If you can manage to walk 3m every day in February, by the end of the month you will be 84 miles away.

Ha ha. We are just eating less crap and walking a bit. She has lost a stone and I've lost half a stone in 10 days. Nothing serious just try to be a bit healthier
