Week 2 17st 3 lb 2lb loss

Week 3 17st 1lb  2lb loss

Week 4 16 st 10lb 5 lb loss

Week 5 16 st  11lb    1 lb gain

Week 6 16 st  9lb 2lb loss

Week 7 16 st  8lb 1 lb loss

Still no exercise !......my badminton partners ........ones Not well ones working one AWOL!

Need to get motivated ....swimming and gym plus badminton this week !,

Going in the right direction regardless. I find that to not avoid doing exercise, just take a few deep breathes, analyse why and how you are avoiding the exercise you want to be doing, then eventually you can find yourself in a better position to get on with it.

I did go through a lot of turmoil tho before i cracked that nut that was 8 years in the making, ie. my slothfulness!

Don't worry and just get on with it imo, hope you kick on and do even better!

Starting weight - January 9th: 21st 5lbs
                          January 22nd: 20st 8lbs
                          January 27th: 20st 3lbs
                         February 3rd: 20st 1lbs
                         February 10th: 19st 13lbs
                         February 17th: 19st 9lbs
                         February 24th: 19st 7lbs
                               March 2nd: 19st 1 lbs

Predicted a 5 lbs loss, got 6lbs, not bad.

This is coming in a day early as i will be too busy to post tomorrow.

Last two days involved heavy running and recovery for an hour each day. For the last three days I have been a gluten free vegan, also staving from added oils, nuts and from having too much fruit juice. Instead my main source of calories comes from eating the same meal three-four times a day.

Brown rice + Lentils + assortment of different veggies. Get the protein i need in with the amount i eat, with the lentils a big winner here. A lot of that is really low in fat too. Do not add any sauces to it or anything. Pretty militant. I then top up during the day with bananas and apples as snacks. Will be working more on my fruit game as i become more knowledgeable, probably adding more dates as they are good value for added calories and nutrients.

Not touching gluten because through testing recently i have found i may have a wheat intolerance. I bloat easily on it, feel lethargic, feel less capable to exercise, become less energetic. On the diet I am on currently without it, I feel as light as a feather all of the time, feel boosted energy wise, always feel full, when I run i have no indigestion and my cardio system seems to be loving this diet as things have never ran so smoothly in a long time. Perhaps, with my diet so good atm, I am only making my body work hard when I run, rather than also in trying to digest food it finds hard to do it to, so there is less strain here.

If there is a worry about me not being able to stick to a bland diet, I find it fine. I love how it is making me feel and perform, and the results are outrageous, especially as i do not feel any strain and what i am doing feels blissfully natural.

What feels even better here is the fact i have made these losses without going too hard all at once, combining diet+hard exercise, and am only really two days into that. I am now going to run every day for an hour at least (body/legs permitting, may need an occasional rest day) and maintain the diet and hope to keep up a rate of around 4-5 lbs loss a week until i get to my target weight.

I have amended the target weight to 14st 7lbs rather than around 16st 7lbs, with thoughts on playing in central midfield for once in my life as Goalkeeping may be a little restricting. But I will decide on what position is best for me, when i reevaluate how tasty i am in central midfield as a slim person.

The playing football target, with complete ease in mobility, is what is really pushing me on here. I hope that all in all I will attain a 7 stone loss in this year, and be primed, hopefully for some pre season training somewhere, but that is a big ask, and i may just look to trial for a team completely ready by Christmas time instead.

Could not have imagined I would be so optimistic about this when I started miserably in January, but now things are really starting to click.

Good stuff and persevere onwards Smiley

Thanks Ant

I have around 5 weeks before Vegas so I will never make 15 shone !

But if truth be told I never thought I would 😉

I think I am going to try and stay on this until I reach 15 stone which might take a while but I am enjoying the challenge this time

2lbs loss

Still Vegan but really didn't do much exercise at all, and on two occasions i gorged on Crisps and other oily goods indiscriminately. Terrible week despite the loss.

Reacting angrily and deciding to follow Dr. Esselstyn's plant based food diet to the letter, which is not only vegan but allows for no added oils, or nuts, and limitations on fruit juice consumption. No crisps or cashew nuts, is where i am most affected. Also no pre packaged vegan microwavables really either as they normally come with added oil.

Also I HAVE to put in 5 days a week at least of some form of exercise. If i need to have a rest day I need to make sure I just do a stretch out or something to keep the consistency up.

Going well because I am still losing and that is good, but I just need to fully jump into this change of lifestyle. I am nearly there, but need to take down these last walls of laziness and bad habits that remain.

My urge for meat and dairy is basically gone too and have generally been feeling great, but this week has been bad as i maintained the diet, but i gorged on terrible sloth that is more addictive than the bad eating and that is the real issue i need to overcome now. Just so easy to avoid doing something relatively tough if you have the option not to do it.

I think once I crack the self motivation and structural issues with how to organise the week better I am going to run away with this and go like an express train. This last week felt like a step backwards, and I am just not having it.

Think this week I am going to work extremely hard and predict a half a stone loss as I really do have a lot of excess fat on me yet to go, so that loss could be easy to come by, we shall see.

Really good work Ant. You have a very positive mentality towards weight loss as a lifestyle change. A lot of people find it easy to adopt the "oh well, I've had a packet of crisps, my diet is ruined, I may as well come completely off the rails for the day/week," mentality. You have identified triggers and used it to help fuel your desire. You have turned a negative into a positive, and that takes a good deal of willpower. Great job mate, keep it up.

Thanks Lee and Zero, the continued support means a lot!

I think the way around it Zero, for me, is to fully commit to the lifestyle change and not dabble in some unhealthy things as a sort of "treat", I do not think that works for me. As soon as I have said treat I get thrown off and ill disciplined and just want to have more and more of them and get lazier and lazier as they make me less and less able to exercise (carried away with the repetitions there, ha).

So it is going to be all or nothing, and I am opting for the all, and to be disciplined and thrive from a 100% healthy routine, that I will break only accidentally if i ever do. Perhaps I may do something once every quarter year or something like have a piece of chocolate on a special occasion or something like that, but I will assess that maybe after this year is up, I am not sure. For the next three months anyway it is gung-ho.

Interestingly enough I am allowed no added sugars, from fruit juices or fizzy drinks, and today I bought a litre bottle of lucozade as a last hurrah before I bid what is perhaps a farewell, lol, pretty emotional times in this household right now. Still in the process of savouring every drop, should be done by lunchtime, ha!
